How does this girl look?

There are multiple differing equations to differentiate each from the other. Yet they are the same unless you are using a scale based upon a differing formula.

There are different scales that meters use to show ppm. Its important to know which scale your pen uses so we can get accurate info and advice.
This confusion is why some people push everyone to use EC, because these scales are all conversions from EC anyways.

I agree. Just I believe hanna is standard. So we don't convert from the readout. And compare this to some other charts. Not a single 5 or 0 ending to be found in a bunch. Thank you for prodding me into reading more on it later.

So general hydro nutrients uses the same scale as my TDS pen (500) therefore, would I be okay to keep doing as I'm doing, possibly just lower the strength of my nutrients by half or a quarter ?
 
There is no "standard" that's the problem with ppm. Even the expensive bluelab units run 700. I run my guardian at 700 and deal with more people using 700 scale than 500/it's.
This is the big argument for trying to get people to use ec. Ppm scales are just conversions someone came up with.

Apologies. Most sold. So, Ive been feeding 18-22% more ppm than I'm reading on my pens?

yes, sorry for all the confusion. Just wanted to put that out there so you know about it and see why it matters ect.
The big point you should take here, is no matter which scale youre using here that is a lot of nutrient for that size plant.
youd probably be good if you calmag your water to a little over 100 and then add in 4-500ppm of nutrient.

I thought it crazy high as well. Got diverted by the tech. I actually ran this GG at 950PPM 500 scale in veg. And just started walking down after 2 weeks at or just below 1400. Your way makes that totally illogical.

if we were feeding the same ppm youd be feeding that much more than I would be.
In the end its just a scale to use for yourself as a tool to have an idea of what youre feeding your plants and to see HOW theyre eating, it doesnt really matter which one you use as long as you use it the same way.
Ive just learned the hard way to clarify when trying to give someone advice using ppm instead of EC so I dont recommend something using my scale and end up making them nuke their plants.

Exactly.... LMAO it causes a lot of confusion sometimes because its just stupid an no reason for there to be different scales really.
Ive been trying to get myself to use EC but ive been using this scale for a couple years now and know it well.
 
So, why is it that my ppm is too high? I followed the chart for feeding, put the right amount of nutrients it called for per gallon. Now I'm worried lol

which week did you follow?
Full recommended dose of calmag is adding an extra 100-150 you dont need in there too.
