How far should hairs recede into bud?

So just was reading another thread and saw that autos tend not to turn amber on their trichs so I'm starting to look more at the hairs and wondering if they all recede or most of them when there done?

I can't for the life of me tell really the difference between cloudy and clear . I know that sounds crazy but maybe I just don't have the eyes or my lighting isn't sufficient . What type of light do you guys use when checking trichs?

Some buds of mine look like they haven't receded their hairs and others look like they have. Not sure how much longer now although I was told another week or 2 a couple days ago. Just wanted some more opinions.

Yeah, I'd wait, if you have the willpower! What are you using to take photos? I got a jewellers loupe from eBay for only £3.50, goes all the way to 100x magnification, which is great for checking trichs. And, everything else around the house. Been all CSI since I got it!

Well worth the investment, if you can find one that you can get delivered in the next few days, get it did.

I'll TRY and take some photos through it later, its a bit tricky to maneuvre a microscope and a camera phone, ill try rig up a ghetto gimbal for it!

Yea I got a 30x-60x jewelry loupe too that what I'm using. I can wait ...I think lol. It's hard sticking the phone camera up and getting it to focus through the dam thing

Haha, I know man, need an extra pair of hands. I may buy myself a usb microscope, cheapest is about £10. It'll mean dragging the pots downstairs to the pc, but it also means no crouching and squinting, I can view things on a 24" monitor, and then screenshot the fucker to put on here. Simples.

I recently switched from a hand-held microscope to a USB scope and for me it's made it much easier to examine the plants. I set it up on both a desktop and lappie (laptop). The lappie gives me "mobility" and I don't need to cut a sample like I do for using with the desktop. But, with the lappie, it can be difficult to hold the scope still enough for decent viewing especially at higher mags -- talk about needing an extra hand or two....lol. At the desktop it's a breeze.
The scope I got cost $35 from Amazon. You can pay more for better optics but I really don't have the need. I'm able to see the trichs quite clearly and it's helping me fine tune when to cut. It's also fascinating to look at the plant morphology. Sort of like some kind of surreal journey through a land of clear mushrooms.....
I prefer taking a sample over using the scope in the grow room due to the LED lights. They really "skew" the colors.

I'm sure the little USB scope I am using would show impurities in the hash. This little device is proving to be very handy around the house ---- I used it the other day to check for fleas on my hounds...... they seemed to like the attention of me looking through their coats.....lol. Also for fun took a look at some things laying around like coins, checking for a bad solder joint on a circuit board, and a few other things I can't remember......(getting old....lol)
The images are a bit grainy but by adjusting the light intensity and just getting used to how the scope operates I'm very happy with what I'm seeing. I have taken some pics with it and I'll try to figure out how to post them. I still at times feel like I'm looking at some kind of science fiction scenes.
