How fast have you been?

You sir are correct, I checked my facts and the '99s stock out @ 190mph - I dont know where I got 206 from though... The gagues went to 220 on that busa though, I laughed hard when I saw that.
bongsmilie

The 206 is the theoretical max speed given rpm redline, stock gearing, tire size. It just doesn't have the power to make it happen.

Not this again.

You are a fool if you think a 1000rr can hit 200.

Your bike is governed at 186. So not only can your bike not hit 200, but it cant hit 190 either.

The dealer sold you lies.

I've hit 180 twice. Once on my tweaked out CBR1000RR, and after I spent even more money on my 1098, hit it again. Both times, on Hwy 4, California. I rarely attempt those speeds anymore though, and head for the twisties instead.

tnrtinr, whattup!

Twisties are SOOO much more fun than straight line speed...

It takes skill to corner quickly, anyone can open a throttle.

Agreed. Straights on a sportbike are ok, but for any length of time, especially on my 1098, it's downright painful. Luckily, here in Cali, we've got some of the best twisties in the world. You should come out here, and I'll take you for a tour. :leaf:

Yea the "cafe" style bikes had just come out in the 80's bmw's, ninja's etc the guys on the bases were buying them not knowing how to ride them and then killing themselves on the autobahn, so they eventually banned US Military Members from even buying that style bike....but i miss it over there when i WAS there the exchange rate was 3.9 Mark to 1$ so a brand new BMW 318i was 9k out the door. German specs oh baby...lol
