How important of a factor is the water temp?

I understand the oxygenation requirements, though I am concerned about water temps.

My temps reach 90* and I have been adding frozen water bottles 3-4 times a day to help regulate this but it's not doing much good. To address the slightly degraded oxygen levels I run an air pump.

My question is - should I invest in a water chiller? Downsize my pump (160gph) or run it less?, any other suggestions? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. :bigjoint:

I don't understand what you have, try restating it.

how many bottles of frozen water are u adding....are they big bottles to keep the temp down? turn the pump off while u r cooling the res also...the pump is heating your res up.....i invested in a chiller i had the same problem as u but i still add frozen bottles 3-4 in my res at a time to kee it around 60-63....90 your gonna get root rot or real slow growth.....

Have just been adding a couple a few times a day. I don't need the drippers except for aeriation once roots have reached the water so I can run the pump a lot less. That will help. Guess without a chiller that's my best bet.
