How is the first day of flowering determined, indoor? (day 32 since flip)

Although I have never paid much attention to the flowering times listed by the breeder/seed co., I am currently growing Black Domina, from clone, and find myself wondering. Sensi Seeds lists the flowering time @ 50 days. Is that determined from day one of the flip, from the first day that pistols appear, or by another criteria? I am on day 32, since the flip to 12/12, with these Black Domina girls, and the calyxes haven't begun to swell yet. They grow very quickly, and are loaded w/trichs. Growing in 3.5 gal buckets of Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil, amended w/a number of organics, and fed R/O H2O, with a few AACTs throughout their life cycle. On what day does flowering begin, and when can I anticipate a harvest? Thanks in advance.

I count the first day of flower when I see the clusters of pistils forming. Sometimes that's not until 7/10 days after the flip. Hope this helps abit.

Closetgardner-Thank you, it does help. Do you, or anyone else, have any experience with Black Domina? I am entertaining all suggestions from Black Domina growers.

When seed sellers say a plant will flower in 8 weeks they are counting from the time the plant is put at 12/12.
An exception is autos. A description saying an auto will flower/finish in 8 weeks means from the day the seedling goes into dirt.
It is generally assumed that plants are vegged a usual 3-5 weeks begore flowering. You can figure your gals are on day 32 of
flowering when the pix were taken. Don't confuse the issue by trying to determine when each individual plant starts to show sex.

the starting date isn't important............the finish date is. they vary within geno/pheno. ripe is what matters.

It seems breeders flowering times are often exaggerated as being faster than it will really be indoors, the same way their THC% are exagerated. Count on at least a full week more. It's also hard to say grams per square meter because there are so many variables. Generally, afaik, the grams per square meter is in outdoor conditions, and the flowering time is probably the same. The autumnal equinox, or flip to 12/12.

Indoors, It also matters what your lighting cycle is before the flip. if you were running 24/0, there would be very little flowering hormone in it's system and it would take a little bit longer for flowering to get underway than say, if you were outdoor, the day before 12/12 would have been 12:02/11:58 and it would have a good amount of flowering hormone in it's system already. Similarly, it wouldn't take as long if you were on an 18/6 or 16/8 cycle indoors before flipping to 12/12.
