What is thew general time frame tricloms go from cloudy to amber?
I'm about 4 weeks from finishing (8-9 weeks flowering.) and my tric's are cloudy?
I figured it would be anouther few weeks?

If you have an 8 week strain, your trics should be cloudy around 8 weeks, with some on their way to amber. Given the 8 week strain example, if said strain went 10 weeks, there would be a lot of amber.

I grow two strains that are cloudy for at least half their bud period. The question is unanswerable. The "mostly cloudy" harvest time is BS. You should be looking for amber to increase as in..."whoa, there's a LOT more amber today" as well as noticing that most of your hairs have turned red and the whole plant has a golden hue and looks "done". Some light damaged buds or injured branches might amber up faster, be sure to take an average sampling from a few areas.

Cutting early is lame.

Gotta agree with Jack on this one. Factor after factor involved. Learning to recognize the 'golden hue' is key. Scopes help but the hue is the real clue.

get a magnifying glass and watch those babies. I usually just look at how the bud looks though. can usually tell by just looking at it.
