How many plants for 1000 watt LED

I have 1000 watts of combined led lights. How many plants grown non scrog or regular can I grow? I have only grown 2 so far, as I like each 5 gallon plant to get 500 watts of led light. I imagine I'll need 2000 watts to grow four big 5 gallon plants.

It depends on the size of the grow area and how big you veg the plants. A thousand watts will do it if the plants and area are small - 2k will do a better job...

I grow 6 in 5 gal buckets in a 40x42 inch area. Usually get around 12 z's. I like variety so I have 6. Home made led and at the end I will crank it up to 900w. I just did. I don't do fancy scrogging etc. I do bend and tie LST. The extra wattage gives me the penetration that helps in the lower canopy. Plain dirt, peters bloom booster fertilizer. Haven't needed extra calmag etc. since switching. Nothing fancy just growing for myself.

As said, depends on grow space and veg time. Unless working in large area (or with small plants) a square grid configuration is probably most efficient, so going from 6 to 9 plants would nock a week or two off your veg time.

Something I'm just learning is that too much vegetative growth can have a severe effect on yield and quality. Plants produce fluffy bud as a defense against mold growth. This can be due to temps being too high or too low but also because the canopy is too thick and airflow is lessened. So flip early or do some strategic pruning. I suspect that if there's any truth to defoliation it's in regards to airflow through the canopy, though there's obviously a big difference between pruning and heavy defoliation.

Some peeps think LEDs are a joke, but plants are crazy about COB light. I grow crazy big bushes in 3 weeks and have had constricted canopies even after trimming branches and lollypopping. I'm talking about all the leaves going vertical because they're pushed up against themselves. In such a situation fluffy bud below the canopy is basically a guarantee, and no amount of light penetration is going to fix that.

I like to veg them short and bushy 30-35 days
My space is a Gorilla tent 2x2.5x7
1000 watts total light

For right now I think 2 plants are about the most you can get in there... You can always try 3 or 4 - That's how you will know for sure - It's all about experimentation and adjustments in your growing technics. Another possibility is going with a "Sea of Green".

I like your enthusiasm! I also like the built in spell checker here - I can't spell worth shit!

My lights and spectrum are:

H350 Deep Purple 350 watts
H350 Magenta 350 watts
H150W Blue 150 watts
H150W Red 150 watts
If you put 1000W in a 2X2.5 tent you will have some serious heat and crispy bleached plants.

Kessil H350 actual power draw is 84W, dissipation maybe 70W.
Kessil H150 actual power draw is 36W, dissipation maybe 28W.
Very misleading names right?

So your total is about 200W @ ~30% efficiency, which should be acceptable intensity for a 2X2, roughly 500 PPFD.
