Given a 7x7 floor space how much far red light do I need to put the ladies to sleep?
I'm guessing not a lot since it's not really being used for photosynthesis but I can't find a good source to give me some guideline.

Thanks for any help

Youll find it in a lot of bulbs if you check their spectrum at the 730 range. That should be enough but if your looking for a quicker turn around buy a more dedicated far red light and time it to come on for the last 15mins of light period or for 15 mins after your lights turn off. Should be plenty more info on google.

I want the quicker turn around. What I need to know is how many watts I need or whatever measurement for that size grow tent

Thats hard for me to reference but most info points to not needing much or for a very long duration. Im not sure there is a min max wattage/lumens for far red only that it is the last light the photoreceptors recieve.
Assume that a dimmer source will need more time to be effective and visa versa. Sorry i cant give wattages etc but there will be some threads around where its been attempted.

Good question there isn't much to go on for reference. I use it in my room and a 40w 730nm bar lights up my whole room well and it's 4x9.5x7.5'. I just centered it and let the reflective walls spread it. I also use 630/660nm for 10 minutes before the lights go on (same idea Pr/Pfr on the other end of the light cycle) and 65w lights up the whole room. Just took a camshot of it yesterday before lights on. 730nm is more difficult (for our eyes) to see since it's in the infared spectrum but keep in mind that room is pitch black normally.

Perfect. Where did you get your light bar if you don't mind me asking? And thanks for being helpful. I like it when I get useful answers. It's a rare thing sometimes

Hey the 730nm I went the lazy option and bought a custom bar from BML, they'll put whatever you want on the bars and you can build the layout from different bar lengths. Expensive but good quality and should last a long time,
