How much light do i need for veg?

How much light would you need to support a veg room(soil) that would contain 2 mothers and about 18 clones every 3 months? Only vegging the clones for 3-4 weeks before they got moved to a flower room(2x1000). Would you be better off going HID since the flower room would be HID?

flouros man,the hid may be ok for the mothers,but its too intense for the clones

yeah,I think it should be,It's what I,and every grower I know,have.the 2'x4 light setup.

although I use 2 2' platforms in line for the 4' coverage.
