How much light is necessary for clones

I’m currently putting together a veg room to supply my flower. I’m trying to stuff 24 veg plants and a cloner in a 9 X10 1/2 ft room. Very tight, I know lol. I’m wondering if I absolutely need a light directly over my 32 spot cloner OR would my clones get enough light just being in the same room as my veg plants while I run 3 t5’s ( 8 bulb Sun Blaze T5HO 48).

I have seen numerous growers get away with cloning with their plants just on the sides of their room. It may take som time to dial and find the right spot. I personally use an old shop light. A t8 with 2 bulbs that I don’t switch out vet often, and keep pretty far above my cloner.

That’s what I’m hoping to get away with also. Might build a shelf to keep the cloner out of the way but also allow them to get light

I use a single 8w t5 daylight tube 4" above 10 clones in a small storage container and they root in 14 days

Clones redirect energy to make roots, so they need low amount of light.
