how much longer till i can harvest ???

I got northern lights at 7 weeks of flowering. Hairs are about 50/50 brown and white. I looked at the resin glands with a jewelers loop and most still seem clear. some of the resin glands on the tips on some leaves are turning alittle dark. Im at 11 hours of light now and looking to pick them asap as i got other plants waiting to get in to the room. Is it ok to harvest now or should i wait a little bit longer. Also is it a good idea to give them total darkness for 48 hours before i harvest. I did flush them 3 days ago....Thanks and sorry no pics

Need pictures really. In my experience though, I tend to harvest when there is around 75/80% orange hairs. I am on the side of the fence that flush the roots prior to harvest and do this when the plant shows 25% orange hairs. Be patient mate. It will be worth it in the end.

Also mate, if you have plants waiting to go in to your flower room, perhaps just a straight forward water feed with no nutes to slow growth for a while. It's not ideal but such is life.

With my grows, I take my clones the day before I put them into flower, it takes me two weeks to root them and then they move to my veg room. I then veg them until my flower room is free. This normally takes six weeks or so after my clones root. It means that every eight weeks I harvest. Good luck mate.

I'm sorry DWC but your method is outdated and wrong.
It all depends on strain and how it's grown, etc.

Hairs mean nothing really, you can get orange hairs then those die off and new white ones sprout.

Trichomes are the source of the high, those are what you base it off.
Your hairs could be orange and your Trichomes clear and you wasted a good 3-4 months growing that weed.

You need a loop, or something to zoom in very close to the trichomes and see what color they are.

Clear = Almost no high
Cloudy = Head high
Amber = Couch lock high

Hairs turning amber could mean a couple of things.
Nutrients burning them
Plant getting pollinated
Plant going hermi
Plant renewing hairs
etc.

I agree with you. But as I stated, pics are needed to be sure. I too check my trichs. I don't go by the hairs either but he was asking for an opinion. I gave him a suggestion.

looks ready to me. sensi seeds describes n lights as 90% indica and a 45-50 day flower period. 8 or 9 weeks max would be my guess.

I think I would go maybe another week or two judging by that picture but you need to look at multiple bud sites to really judge accurately.

anybody else have any thoughts ??? id like to harvest in no more than a week. any thoughts on a 48 hours lights out period ???? Thanks for the help

Rushing a harvest is a big no no unless something is preventing you from growing her full out.

The last 2 weeks make ALL the difference from something that can net you 50 grams into 100 grams.

I don't turn my lights off at all. Leave them on right up until it's time to harvest. I tried it on my last grow and it didn't seem to do anything special. That being said, i did of course notice that the leaves in my buds were very droopy and it made it harder to trim. With the lights on, the leaves are a bit more awake and easier to trim.
