How not to get Arrested in WA

Okay here it goes to all you WA med patients here are some ways to not get arrested with your grow. Despite what you think, you are not legally growing weed. Cops can and will arrest you if they want. Even if your within your limits. So how do you not get arrested? Simple.

Its all about how your grow is perceived. In WA your allowed 15 plants no matter the stage of growth. That means you can have 15 plants ranging from seedlings to palm trees. So your gonna grow some Palm Trees right? Think again.

They also established that a "60 day supply" is 24 ounces. If you are over your limits you could choose to donate some to your local dispensary or to another med patient. But the rule is 24 ounces.

If cops come in to look at your grow, they are looking at how much you are likely producing. This has nothing to do with number of plants. I would bet everything I have that a med grower producing 15 trees would get taken down faster than a med grower producing 50 plants in a sea of green style in something like a grow tent or closet. Why? because the guy growing 15 trees is clearly producing more medicine than 24 ounces where as the guy with a sea of green doenst appear to be producing that much. Dont get me wrong, ive seen SOGs that produce hefty amounts of green, but thats not what it LOOKS like.

I know, and you prob know some too, patients that have been arrested and had all their stuff seized despite being within their limits. Again, its all about what it looks like. If it looks like your operating a weed factory, your prob gonna get taken down. I personally know a med grower that was well within his limits but his plants were very high yielding, usually 3/4 of a pound per plant. Cops came and took a look at his grow and said have a nice day. A week later the drug unit came through and shut him down. Why? Because they can. Being a med patient is only a defense in court. Its up to the arresting officer on whether or not he wants to bring you in front of a judge. And even if that particular officer doesnt care, that doesnt mean the drug unit officer wont care. After all, its the drug unit officers job to bring in growers. He gets monthly bonuses for bringing in certain amounts of offenders. So if he wants to, he will bring you in. But it really isnt worth his time to bring in med patients who are producing only what they need to medicate.

This is bad news to all the medical cash croppers out there. I mean after all, you want to grow the biggest 15 plants you can right? Well just because you only have 15 doesnt mean you wont be taken down. My advice to you is to find other avenues of making money. OR at least only make a little bit of money. Ive run the numbers and one could hypothetically make around 2-3k a month with a small, under the radar grow op. But if your out there trying to pull in 20k a month, chances are your going to get taken out of the running, med patient or not.

WA just passed new laws about co-op gardens of up to 45 plants with at least 3 patients but no more than 10. I personally would never start one of these co-op gardens and if I did I would structure it around the original fifteen plants. Cops are not lawyers and they very rarely know the actual laws regarding mmj.

To all the med patients out there, make your grows LOOK small and you should stay out of jail. To all the cash croppers, there are many more ways of making money that are faster, easier, and legal. All your doing is flooding the market with product. Im all for growing for your own personal stash, but if you try to get rich from growing, Im willing to bet sooner or later your gonna find out what a jail cell looks like.

Thanks for reading, smoke on and post away

dont tell anyone your growing ...dont show anyone your grow...

I been growing more than 15 plants a crop for over 2 decades never had a issue....weed is not just for medical patients:mrgreen:

The problem is people wanna brag and show off their new found hobby..... and some people just dont agree with the lifestyle

I personally have had cops stop by 1 of our grows.....neighbor tried to snitch us off....cops counted... left and told the neighbors on boths sides of us we were legal.

Agreed. The number one rule is dont tell anyone your growing. If no one knows about it, cops dont know about it, then there is no one to bust you.

I was mainly pointing out why most med patients get busted when there within their limits. Seems to be a popular topic. But the same rule applies for med patients too, DONT TELL ANYONE!!!!!

Thats a rockin pic by the way lol. Ya, every situation is different. Some cops wont really care as long as your in the numbers. Some cops will. Luck of the draw i guess. Or maybe it depends on if they need to hit their bonus or not.

If thats your grow room it doesnt look like its too outta control. The guy I knew that got busted had 3 full bedrooms, 10-12 in each room in 10 gallon pots, 6 1500w lights in each room, under 3 med cards. Technically he was under his limit, but they busted him, seized all his equipment, medicine, and money. The charges got dropped but he doesnt get any of his stuff back. LAME!!!!

I also knew a different grower that had 2 med cards, 15 plants in each of 2 rooms (30 total), 6 1000w in each room, etc. Their landlord called the cops when she found out they were growing. Cops came, counted, told the landlord it was legal and left. Never got busted.

In my opinion, If I had alot of equipment/money/medicine lying around and the cops paid me a visit and left, I would be moving my operation. I know it sounds drastic, but you never know when the cops are going to get desperate for a bust and if they know where they can get an easy one, they'll go for it if they need to. Ive also heard rumors of off duty cops going and robbing grows they have visited.

Im the careful type. Better safe than sorry. I would rather miss a harvest than go to jail and have to go through all the hassle of fighting a grow charge. But thats just my opinion. The area I live in, cops just did a massive city wide bust of like 50 growers. Some were legitimate cash croppers, but some were just med patients that donated excess to dispensaries. IDK, id rather lose some crop than go to jail. And on top of everything else, even if you go through the hassle and beat the charges, your not getting your stuff back. That is just more money your losing in the long run.

I used to think like you toaster, but I have heard too many stories of people following the spirit of the law not getting fucked with (in western washington) to be paranoid anymore. I've heard at least 10 testimonials (on and off the web forums) from folks who have had LEO visits that ended well. A few were 3-4 over their limit and the cops just made them chop a few and then left. I just use common sense and do my thing. Common sense means not bragging, being discrete, not having drugs at the house, not doing business at the house, not having a bunch of loose cash or guns and keeping the place clean, livable and not looking like a grow house. I'm the model neighbor/renter. Chillax a bit mon, the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. Corny but true. lol

Honestly as long as you aren't selling and growing way over your limit THEY DON'T CARE

The cops here in WA are pretty sensible. This isn't the South. I've never had problems.

Sevenhourworkweek- I completely agree. I know Im the paranoid type, and I probably would do things most people wouldnt, but like you said, keep shit low key, keep things clean, dont do business at the house, etc, are all the basic guidelines for avoiding the cops. Most encounters with cops end well. But you never know the day you my catch a cop on a bad day and you just happen to be one plant over the limit. It happens. And for every story of an encounter that ended well that Ive heard, Ive also heard of someone getting taken down for one reason or another, despite being within the legal guidelines. The one grower I mentioned was within the limits, but his place on the inside looked like a certified commercial marijuana factory. He grew amazing bud, and alot of it. He was within the limits, but got taken down and in my opinion he got taken down because of how his op looked at first glance.

Ba142- cops in WA are WAAAAAAAYYYYY cooler than most cops, Ill give you that. But as I said before, you never know what youre gonna get. You might get the cop that just found his 12 year old getting high and wants to take some product out of the equation. Or the cop that just found out his wife cheated on him. These types of things happen. My main point is the surest thing you can do is make your grow SEEM like it is no big deal, even if it is.

sevenhourwelfairline is a federal agent, dont talk to him, he attempts to spread misinformation with the goal of inciting threats which can be used as cause to investigate you and use roll it up forums as evidence against you.

what does a permit cost and how do you go about getting one?
Get in touch with these guys - http://advancedholistichealth.org . They have some good info on their site, are more than willing to help over the phone and obviously in person as well. I'm a patient of theirs and they had a very relaxed, but professional environment. They were also very knowledgeable and didn't mind answering any question I could come up with at the time.

Good info. We Have To Keep It REAL. Everyone in the community should know it is still possible to "Get Busted" even if you have a medical marijuana card, follow all the laws, only have 15 plants and 24oz of medicine. I'm just saying..

Bullshit. They care about numbers, weight, loose cash, weapons and street drugs. If your shit is in check you'll be fine. All the busts we read about the grower(s) were fucking up 95% of the time.
