Hello, I am starting this thread to help people better understand plant problems. Many symptoms look identical or at least very similar. When you go to the doctor they follow a similar diagnose procedures. If it is good enough for humans then its good enough for your plant.

This guide will help you figure out most of the common problems novice growers may come across.

Step 1 : observe the plant and write down the symptoms.
( drooping leaves, curling leaves, color changes, dying leaves...ect)
Try to get an idea of what possible problems caused these symptoms.

Step 2 : Check your watering scheduled. This can cause drooping from either over-watering or under-watering. Excessive over-watering will lead to yellowing of leaves while excessive under watering will cause browning crispy leaves.

If yes good job hopefully you don't need to come back
If not please continue to the next step.

Step 3 : Are your plants exposed to excessive heat ? This can cause drooping and leaf curl. Is it hotter than 95 f or are your lights to close. A general way to test if your lights are to close is to place you hand in between the light and the plant. If it is too hot for you hand then it is to hot for the plant.

Step 4 : Check for bugs. They can cause massive damage to plants if left untreated. There is a wide verity of symptoms cause by bugs. Look for holes in the leaves, little brown spots. check under the leaves for tiny bugs.

Step 5 : Check your PH. Your PH should be between 6.3-6.9 depending on the strain. Unbalanced PH can case a salt lock out which means the plant can no longer take in nutrients. This will cause the plant to have the same symptoms a nutrients deficiency. This is why you test for PH before adding or flushing nutrients. There are many product that can help you balance your PH if you find it is outside of the range.

step 6 : Check your feeding schedule.
Look up what deficiency symptoms are. Add nutrients.
look up what over fertilizing symptoms are . Flush your plants
To flush water you plant with pure water 3x the volume of the container of the pot holds.
ex.) if you have a 1 gallon pot used 3 gallons of pure water to complete a flush
continues flushing for a few more watering. only flush again after the soil is almost dry.

step 7 : Check humidity Make sure its around 60%-70% for veg. but can be lowered to 40% for flowering to prevent mold.

Step 8 : your plant may have a virus or mold. Better luck next time.
spray down your grow room with Lysol next time
