These are brand new seeds. They seem to take off and look great , but then they get to looking wimpy then they just die.

To prep RW I usually soak it in 5.5PH water overnight.
They're saturated at this point so I put them in a salad spinner and get them near empty of water(about 8g, they're 5g roughly dry). Well the 1.5inch cubes I use are.
Then I mix up some water at 5.8 PH and then put the seeds in taproot down(once they've germed in the paper towel).
Then I dip the bottom of the RW in the water quickly until its about 25g-30g. Takes a second unless its really dry.
Put them on a heat mat and put a cup over it to keep it humid. Seedlings trying to root like humidity. 90%+ is good.

I use a heat mat in the beginning to pop the seads how long should I keep that going as far as height.

I let my seeds germinate in a cup of water til they crack (ph around 7.0; ph isn't as important at this stage because there's basically no nutes in my tap water), then put them in rockwool and water them once a day or once every other day with maybe 1/8-1/6 of a cup of water; this whole time they should be in a dark place. You want the cubes to get almost dry (this promotes root growth.) If it's below 60 in your environment you can use a heat pad underneath a germing tray. Once they sprout they go under lights and into buckets but they still get top fed for about another week so the roots in the cube don't dry up before the roots below get to where they can get some water from the bubbles.

First time growers, no I can't. I'd suggest soil or maybe coco or hempy.

hey void killet thread dude. ive done two soil grows and had 1 grow turn out (chemdog fem seeds) the other grow bag seed sucked. so I will be trying dwc soon but would like your in put as if you where growing it for me and im over ur shoulder. i have a 4x4x7 tent 400w mh for veg. 1000w hps for flower. and temps r ruond 80 when its on around 60-70 when off.. I have 5x5gal buckets. for neuts i have snb A&B 2.0-0-2.0, monster bloom, GH micro & bloom, and also overdrive & clearing solution. so far so good.? i still need to get air pump and hydroton/rockwool and net pots. everything else I think i can manage lol. you got me hooked this far lol so now im gonna do er.
questins.
1) what size pump to run all 5 buckets on 1 pump.?
2) What size net pots would be good to use.?
3) as for feeding what would u recommend using the nuets i have.
4) lighting hrs (im doing 18/6 for veg going down an hr every 2 day til 12/12.
i hope its not to much fo you to answer and ill be glad to post up picks thanks void killer tut

5LPM minimum so for 5 buckets use atleast 25LPM.

Use nutes you got. 2-0-2 is weak though(never heard of snb). Monster bloom some kind of PK booster? And you're missing grow nutes. Overdrive and clearing solution? Assume not needed. You're missing calmag unless your nutes carry it in more than trace amounts.
Lighting 18/6 all veg. 12/12 all flower.
You're missing a meter, at least you never said you had one. You will want one to test EC and PH. You could use a guide scaled down, but its not recommended and you really should have one to read what your plant is doing. Especially for a first time hydro grow.
A good cheap nute is Ionic. Just need grow, bloom, boost. It's a one part. Oh and calmag.
Get yourself some Aquashield, some kind of mycos powder, and some brand of EWC(earth worm castings) and read heisenbergs sticky in this section on how to brew it and dosage(first post)

thanks man. going to put an order in for 5" pots x5 a meter,calmag,boost & grow. the pump n air disks ill get from pet store (i have gh bloom and gh micro)

1. 5 buckets you'll want an industrial size pump, or just use 5 20g - 60gallon pumps
2. Net pot size depends on veg time/overall plant size. Bigger plants bigger netpots
3. Stick to a feeding chart or find someone that could give you ppm or ec levels to follow
4. Sounds like too short of a veg cycle to me, I like to do 18/6 for 2 or 3 months then switch to 12/12 off the bat for another 2-3 months

silly question Im sure, but.. Ive been looking at all the waterfarms and aquafarms. I built my own with a larger res underneath for a more stable feed over a longer time (thats my thoughts on it anyways)
My question is about the net pot. I see that all the prebuilt farms have baskets with holes only on the bottom. I have a net pot with holes all around... will this make any difference? Im assuming not, but I figured it couldnt hurt to ask.

2 buckets in it but theres no drain, that's the point.. honestly get a mini ac if you can afford it, you can get small ones for like 2-3 hundred
