How to improve taste ?

I have several successful grows under my belt with good yields with Mephisto strains however the resulting weed has very little taste and aroma even after a month curing, how can I improve the taste of my bud? The resulting weed is smooth and is not harsh however it has very little taste which is disappointing to say the least. Any recommendations as all I can think of is my drying time is much too quick being 3 to 4 days due to my location being hot as f**k. I grow in coco and use house and garden nutrients simple A and B with pk13/14 in flowering.

Well genetics are the major component imo. Harvesting early is also a big factor, so make sure that isn't an issue. You may do some searches on "high brix" growing. That might help shed some light on the situation.

Harvesting early is a huge factor I see with newer growers. Especially if they focus on the time frame the breeder says instead of looking at what the plant is telling you.

Genetics are absolutely a huge part like renfro said. I've had several very tasty strains from Sin City seeds. I haven't grown any TGA but people rave about the flavor of some of those strains.

I personally find that a proper dry is more important then the cure. I haven't "cured" weed in years at this point. It's never around long enough because it tastes and smells so good people want it when it's ready.

My dry time and processing usually takes about 2 weeks after harvest. Then it's done and in jars or bags till its gone.

Another really important factor is just growing a healthy plant. If the plant doesn't have what it needs or has to much it won't reach it's full genetic potential.

Room temp is another thing to consider. Higher temps will evaporate the more volital terpenes.

Thanks for the reply Thundercat I use the trichomes as an indication of when to harvest I like a more of a couch lock feel so I harvest around 20 -30 % amber, I do not use the breeders time frame as an indicator as the buds usually go a week or two past the time frames given by the breeder. I think my issue lay with higher temps of my grow environment even with extraction fans etc the temps can and did get pretty high as we had a few weeks of temps higher 108 Fahrenheit so keeping my cabinet cool was a real challenge that I managed to keep down around 90 Fahrenheit which is still pretty high but there is nothing much I can do about that in my present situation. Thanks again for the reply

With temperatures that high Id imagine the plant was pretty stressed. It probably produced less terpenes than it was capable of and what was produced was probably evaporated off as fast as it was made.

Id focus on the temperature issue first. Just a tip, if you can get CO2 up to 1500 PPM you can actually run at 90F (canopy temperature)

Thanks guys for the replies I appreciate your time. I thought temps and drying time would be major factors I will work on those in my next grow as much as I can ... cheers
