so i gotta afive gallon bucket dwc goin on my sour diesel mother and my resivoir is gettting really warm...i just put it under a 1000watt (vented by a 4'' exhaust) in my tent..the bucket is a homedepot orange bucket i put a thick black cloth (a piece of the tent not being used) over it hopefully that would cool it..i also put some ice in there to cool it down real fast...then i corrected the ph cause it was a lil high..so i guess my question is how do i keep my resivoir cool???or am i gonna have to put ice in it everyday? any help would b appreciated

I am not sure that putting ice into the res is a good idea. You can damage the roots if they come into direct contact with the ice. If you control the temp in your tent then the water will only get as hot as the air around it.

holy shit, crackerboy, your avatar is DA BOMB!

sick.

yes, cracker is right on.

you can throw some frozen bottles in your rez but there is a risk of killing roots.

i've done the frozen bottle thing in my dwc set up. no issuess whatsoever.

now, i just change out the water every week & dont worry about temps.

running a clean set up is more important than temps IMO.

plus, you can use a little hygrozyme or h202 to keep the nasties away.

eventually, i will go rdwc & use a chiller...
