400w Philips Mastercolor Ceramic Metal Halide
Using Soil. Happy Frog
Using Grow big when I feed which I haven't been using lately because I just transplanted in to 6" pots.
Strain : Triple OG?
It's an OG strain I've flowered before it's awesome.

I've got 4 females roughly a foot tall each.
They are about a month old.

Should I LST? Top? What's the best way to maximize yield with an OG strain?

Thanks for all help

get some pipe cleaners and tie them ladies down and keep all under a foot and drop that 400 down to about 8-10 inches new plant 006.jpgice 005.jpgscotts 004.jpgView attachment 2286446the 400 only punches a bout 16 '' so make your plant short and you get bigger nuggs and less popcorn buds i got a cheap china 400 and pull 4 plus off each plant with one month veg. im in deep water culture (D.W.C.) hydro is not the same as soil so expect 2-plus a plant. in soil I would veg for 5 weeks! happy growing!!!!

To maximize yield you first need a high yielding strain. Next you need a large container, at least 3-5 gallon. Next you need to veg for 5-8 weeks+.

There are a lot of variables and in betweens as in what nutes to use or lighting nonsense and any other extras or tricks some have. But in my experience with multiple strains topping or FIMMING does not yield more. It definitely makes for more trim time but not yield, in my case.

I believe and through trail and error have found that pruning and LSTing works amazing. I usually prune the entire bottom 1/3 of my plants by week 2 of flower, and I LST according to the strain from late veg to early flower. I'll even sometimes LST past halfway in flower with sativas that keep going and going.

I especially avoid topping with feminized seeds being when I did top I got a herm every grow out of 4-10 plants, since stopping topping I have yet to have one out of 5-6 grow cycles with 4-10 plants at a time of different strains. I'm a recovering topper.

Find some good bud boosters, prune and LST and just have fun and learn.

im gonna have to say do a scrog. its gonna take a little more time to veg, but you will more than double your yeild with that method...

So from what I've read I should drop my light to about 8-10 inches from my gals...
Put in bigger containers and Veg for about another month...
So Should I scrog these ladies then? Whats the best way to do that with my setup? Should I just got those little cooling racks they use for baking like the guy above this post posted?

Thanks for all help guys. Will rep!

great.! thats way more space than you will ever need with your 400w cool tube.. what I would do than is plastic off a 3x3 area with panda or mylar build a nice little scrog net and just start to train them.. your 1g pots might work ok since they will not be in veg long in that small a space 3g kinda seems like overkill so if you can find some 2g than run with it. give it a go and see what happends..

another cool Idea would be to remove the shield from the tube and do a vert grow with the 4 plants surrounding the light. also I think you can get away with growing in a 4x4 space with prety good results..
light can be placed as close as 4" if you have a decent fan..
cheers and cant wait to see what method you go with..

Yeah I've got a vertical ceramic metal halide bulb as well. I've used it before for like a week it's pretty cool but the white light is so intense and hard to work with. Plus I dont want to redo all my ducting it's a pain.

Should I use like a string for my scrog or a metal cage-like thing?

I would just build the scrog net with pvc and some string thats what I and many other people do. seems to work great..

read, read some more, then read it again, then learn not to believe 90% of what you do read (at least on these forum's)
best thing i can advise is dont get caught up in the voodoo of MJ nutes and all those fancy bloom enhancers etc, feed your plant's carefully and at what rate they need, not what rate the bottle says to, do this and your off with a running chance :) Good luck dude.

give Uncle Ben's take on growing a read, and you'll find he is within the 10% on this site that actually know there shit, inside out!
