how to tie down, when to tie down, why to tie down?

i got some bag seed for my first grow (check out my journal) and was just wondering.... well i looked at my height in the space i have for them and its just about six foot close but not quite and i have my babies in 5 gal buckets now... srry for lack of current picks... but if they are going to double in size at least when i start to flower then i will most deff. run out of room... also recently obtained a 4ft 2 bulb t-8 6500 veg floro so i guess like the title says how should i tie down or back how, is it a good idea.... plz help a newb:weed:

How, with string with loops large enough for the branch to grow and tied to holes drilled in your buckets
When, Now and keep the tips pointed up slightly when you tie. they will turn towards the light in 24 hrs.
Why, cause of you don't tie them down you will lose the light that will get to the lower buds, about 25% less harvest.

Like said above. Tie something soft n loose to stem so it doesn't constrict and dig into it. Then tie training wire or. String to screws on the buckets. If u llook at my pics in my grow thread you can see how I have them tied down.

I started tieing mine down when they were about 8 talll and I adjust the ties to this day.

Yours look pretty big already so id slowly start bending em. Make sure the stems are still flexible and not hard otherwise ull be supercropping it haha
