Long time grower ,first time using led light ,1200 dimmable viparspectra.
Easy to use ,low heat but really noisy with its heat fans.
Growing lucky dogs chem fuego, in soil, Coco mix with greenplant dual fuel nutrients and rezin.
Sure it's ok in week 6 flower but I'm not won over with led ,my 400 watt cool vent reflector lumatek ballast kills the led in end weight .
Whats everyone's opinion ,are led lights great and mine just sucks or go back to old school

You swapped from a 400hps to a 1200 LED? Is that actual draw from the wall? Usually you use less watts for LED

New quality leds are great, yours suck.
Agreed. You’re probably only pulling 120 watts max at the wall. I’ve got a 640 watt that does everything a 1000 watt HPS did for me with less electricity and no cooling fan. I’d possibly add a 250 HPS for the red if I could spread it effectively over 25 square feet. As it is I’m happy with the quality and the weight so far. On my 4th flower crop right now.

4 strains. 5 weeks since flip. Budget Phlizon bar style LED. 640 watts max and I never have it over 80%. PAR meter shows 650-850 on tops at 80%.

Post a link to the light.

Watt for watt a good LED will beat a hps but the difference between good led and poor led is world's apart.
That said there's always the odd person that can't get on with even the top end LED, usually its down to environment.

Viparspectra have always been bottom of the barrel, though they've improved lately so it depends which one you have.

Phlizon Newest FD6500 Plant Led Grow Light for Indoor Plants 6x6ft Coverage Full Spectrum Grow Light Daisy Chain Dimmable 2.9 µmol/J LEDs Veg and Bloom https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SPXD8JX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SH3XCCY7ZPRZX2FK70ZE

Check the price. Honestly I only bought it because any other light this size was $200 shipping to Alaska. I was going to buy a Growers Choice but damn. $200. Anyway this light definitely works okay as far as I’m concerned.

Light snobs be like “It ain’t Samsung diodes ot Meanwell drivers”. No but it’s been working daily since May. Vegging and flowering. And it’s like $530 with the coupon.

Link doesn't work for me but I've seen some of their lights before and the actual wattage for the price seemed to beat most lights of similar price bracket.

It's about getting the job done ey. That's what counts. :)

i dont have a horse in this race, im outdoor but i like to keep tabs on the LED growers and their choices in case i do go LED one day. My dimmable HID 400w CMH/HPS gets me through my short winter tent session or dimmed to 25% for clones/starts
