Hps or fluros??????

1000 WATT HPS OR 160 WATTS OF FLUORESCENTS FOR VEG??????????

Hey whats up riu. Im currently growing a few strains and have a light question. I have two 4 foot long fluorescent fixtures with 2 40 watt bulbs in each. I just recieved my 1000 watt hps thats air cooled. Should i through my 2 week old plants under it or would i be better off with the flourescents. Thanks

do u mean "throw" ? If yes then I say leave em under the floros till you flower. 2 week old plants dont need anywhere near 1kw of light.. youll just be wasting money.

1000w hps maybe a little too much horsepower for your veg needs at this time.... but 160w is not very much, either
(i prefer 400mh fro veg.... 10-12" above the canopy to hit the girls with as much power as I can)

but... how big are your 2 week old plants/are they from clone or seed?
and what kind of medium are you in?

2 week old plants are still 2 oyung to put under a 1000 ,give it 2 more weeks then veg it for anoher 2 weeks under 1000.you will grow some monsters.

hey im growing one Shiva skunk plan, im running it with one 27watts cfl bulb, its 16days clone. is it good to give it 18h of light and 6 of night??do i need more lite? my plant new lef are turning brown is that because to much light??

leafs don't turn brown from too much light from a 27w CFL 18/6.
sounds like a nute issue.... or maybe even lack thereof.

well im groing in 4 dwc 5 gallon buckets. There in rockwool covered in hydroton. I've been growing them from seed and there about 6 inches tall. I plan to grow them for around 2 months and then take clones. I dont have the money for a mh conversion bulb at the moment which sucks.

jimmycocpuffs - sounds to me like a nutrient issue... or lack of nutrients being supplied to the plant/s - is what i was saying.

beastinit702 i have seen some great grows done in the dwc buckets... make sure you keep your roots good and healthy (hydroguard part of your nutrient regiment?) and watch the PPMs & PH daily...

yeah they are and as long as you have a good root system and your plants are a couple inches tall you can use the 1000 to make monsters.good luck on your grow.You gotta thread started.

yeah i keep a log of my plants and i make sure to check my ph and ppm twice a day. No hydroguard is not part of this grow. Right now im using botanicare pure blend pro grow.

no, i dont have a grw started yet though i will have it up and going with in the next few days though. Thanks for all the help.

Sounds good. Just waiting for my Afghan Kush to get out of shock I drop him when I took him out to check the ph and I ripped a few roots so he's not looking to good right now.
