Hello all im expanding my op.and would like to go from my hid to led. My space is a 10X10 flower room and a 5X5 veg room. Im pretty new to growing as the grow im currently on is only my third grow. I live in the south were temps are crazy! Im not to familiar with l.e.ds, but on this new op if I was running hid I would be using 4 1000 watt hps lights. My ? is what are some lights that can match the light output but l.e.d??? I only have around $1500.

I run 800w of vero 29's. Getting ready to finish a 16 cob 3590 build for 11sq ft. Flip chip opto may be an option for you. They are led and high power. 1200w 1 chip. To get efficient in an area of 100 sq ft is tough. Big investment. But some are getting 2 plus grams per watt with led. That would be 6000 grams? What kind of gpw are you getting now? What about ac? Lot's of questions. In an area 46" x40" I get 800 to 1000 grams. That's all I need every 3 months.

If you buy lights every three grows, you'll always be upside down. Big area, I'd wait and see what progress is made over the next12 to 18 months in growing with cobs. Get a little farming under your belt.

Run the thouies and add cob bars as money allows. The mixed spectrum and ability to fill gaps in light coverage will help you learn the benefits of each.
