HTG Supply

So ive been looking around for a place to get some lights. Its seems the cheapest HID systems at all the local hydoponic stores run about $250+ yet I see some webstores are selling them for $100 + shipping.

has anyone ever ordered from HTG supply(or any other relativly cheap webstore), and if so are you happy with what you got? I def want to get some new shit, not refurbished or used.

Also money is kinda tight so I was thinking about getting either a normal 400watt HPS light and using that to both veg/flower(i know MH is better for veg) or maybe trying to get enough together for
.

ultimatly I would be looking at trying to get 2 seperate lights to have a constant veg/flowering cycle using clones and all that. but i just cant afford 2 lights right now. My plan is to have like 2-3 plants in constant veg and 4 plants in constant flowering, once i can get my 2nd light obv.

yeah anyways, where did you get your lights

I'd get the dual set up, i can't see the MH setup being that much cheaper by itself.....then down the road you can just get another MH/HPS light, kill 2 birds know what Im saying.

and if for some reason you can't afford the HPS set up, you already got it, just switch the bulb.

Whenever people ask for recomendations on where to get lights, I tell them HTG. you won't find a light that is new of the same quality for that amount of money, anywhere! Trust me, I've looked for a long time. You won't be disapointed with your purchase.
I would also pay the extra $20 or $30 to get the dual system that comes with the MH conversion. I agree, in the long run you should get two lights so you can veg and flower at the same time.

I agree with splifman 100% on this, htgsupply is great. Honestly I grow under a pure hps system and havent had any problems at all, I still get tight internodes, however htgsupply is pushing the enhanced hps bulbs which work better for vegging than a regular hps light. They also are pushing the 430 watt systems too. just a little added benefit. If it says 55,000 lumens, thats a 430 watt bulb.
Quite honestly based on what I've said here, and I know some wont agree, but I would go with this:
#1 SELLER - 400 watt High Pressure Sodium Grow Light - 400w HPS Complete System! - $119.95
Or this one:
Budget 400 watt HPS System with Glass Lensed Reflector - $179.95

Good luck with your grow.

Hey videoman,
don't mean to jack this guy's post, but I had a quick question for you on the topic. I noticed you had the supernova reflector from HTG. I have the easy cool 6 inch that is also glass covered. I was wondering why you chose the supernova? As far as I can tell there is no real difference between them. Just was wondering because I will be buying another glass covered hood soon.

I made my own cooled hood out of a peice of sheet metal bent into a rectangle, 2 inline 4" exhaust/intake fans, covered with a peice of polycarbonate plexiglass, it works great.

I have been using a 250watt hps from HTG and it works good. But,, I would recommend a 400 watt though if you can afford one. I think I might be harvesting bigger yielding plants if I would have gone with the more wattage. HTG sent my order fast and discreet.

Dude, I wish I could tell you some brainstorming story, but truth is I ordered the $119.00 model, which he cut me a deal on, than he called me back to say he was out of stock could he sub another model, I said sure, than when it arrived there was another note saying that model was out of stock too, so he upgraded me again! I ended up with the $199.00 model for only $108.00 shipping included.

I do like the glass though.

Another benefit of the glass lens is that the light can be placed closer to the plants. I believe this is the point of the glass.

i would go with the Budget 400 watt HPS System with Glass Lensed Reflector - $179.95 itit isn't cheap for sure but a good investment for sure since the glass gives you extra safety from exploding light bulbs (nasty thing to happen and just takes a drop of water to do it) and since it has air-cooling capabilities you can go closer to the tips without burning them once you put up ventilation:) would love to have on like that:)

I just got the 400 watt hps with the easy cool 6. It was on my doorstep for $249. Very happy with HTG supply overall. Unfortunately my light didn't work and he's replacing the bulb with no problems. Hope that is the only problem.

Exactly my setup of choice. That happens occasionally with those HID lights. It sucks, but he will never give you problems or ask questions about replacing it. Good luck
