Look up Maxtoolsales on Ebay or virtual sun on ebay. pretty good prices on all kinds of setups, and they even have setups on there website where you can get like 3 600w mh/hps ballast bulbs hoods and all for like $900.

Good luck, wish i could go that big baller

yeah, it sounds like this one will be a successful grow. you will need a minimum of $5k to even get close to starting what you want. i have an easy $12k in my flower and veg rooms, with no fancy controllers or multi function systems, and as much as possible was hand built.

Wassup man I hate rollitup and how someone gets on here all excited n happy n then everyone jus talks hella Shit to them. I'm not sayin this dude can pull half a lb of each plant cuz I still haven't even done that but I think everyone should give him some encouragment and advice rather than a whole bunch of Shit talkin. Neways bro read some books. Get jorge cervantes grow bible or marijuana grow basics(has a day by day guide for your first grow) read those n ull learn a lot if u wanna start off growing its not gunna be automated right away ur gunna needa be there almost every day for ahour or so. So ur friends parents better be cool wit u visiting a lot. Also check out stink buds harvest a pound every thirty days which is a aero/ nft set up. Anyways man if u need ne more advice jus hit ne up n don't listen to all these negative nancys on here I dunno what pleasure they all get in tellin someone what they're not gunna be able to do.

I think the pleasure part doesn't really come till they get to tell op "I told you so" , all I see are people giving sound advice and stressing that there is a lot of work involved and this work takes some experience.

Look man, your obviously new to this. The first thing I would recommend is not purchasing through your credit card as it leaves a paper trail right up to where you receive your package. 2nd if you want to get a lot of weight your going to need way more than a 500 watt light, try a 1,000 watt light. I would recommend going to the hydro store and asking them for some used but refurbished equipment, you'll save hundreds that way. Co2 , have you got that far yet? If you want extra weight your going to need it, and not some shitty co2 canister. Try a 4 burner co2 generator. i could go on for hours.

Oh and by the way, this guy is pretty accurate. I have a large garage of my own and you will spend thousands in it ! not to mention the electric bill that you haven't even thought about in which your going to get skull fucked on.... 1,500.00 electric bill a month, you think your un-maxed credit card can handle that ?

you need to increase your budget by like 1000%.

1/2lb per plant? thats a really REALLY high goal, bare minimum wattage id use would be 1x 1000w over every 4 plants, also youll want them to be atleast (ATLEAST) 2.5 - 3 ft before starting to flower them if you wanna come close to 8 zips off each one.

my advice to you, buy 4 1k lights, get 2 4x8 tents, and put 2 1k lights in each one, in one tent run MH bulbs and use it for veg, in the other run HPS bulbs and use it for flower.

get a 9wk strain, this way youll veg for 9 weeks and flower for 9 weeks and keep rotating between the tents. once you get it dialed it you could POTENTIALLY be pulling 4lbs every 9 weeks (alternating between tents) but this will take you many many MANY months of learning... for the first few harvest youll probably be lucky to get half of that.

Im at work right now (at an indoor gardening store, its slow today) and i just totaled up everything you would need to run 2 4x8 tents (w/o co2) and it came to just under $3000, if you shop ebay you could probably do it for closer to $2000.

this is way WAYYYY more work than you think its going to be. I run 2 600w flower rooms, a veg room and a seperate 300w LED experiment and I easily spend atleast 90minutes a day tending to plants/flowers/clones, then theres that one day a week where im hunched over in tents for 2-3 hours

oh yeah and another thing to think about,

if you want 1/2lb per plant, its gonna take atleast 4 months of growing from when you pop the seed (2 for veg, 2 for flower) plus another month to dry and cure before you sell it.

that means after you initally set up it will be almost 6 months before you see ANY cash. you will have to bankroll this operation out of pocket untill then... thats 6 months worth of electricity and nutrients.... with the set up i outlined above thats gonna be atleast another $1500, probably more

This is an interesting thread. I'm not experienced but I also sometimes have an "over" zealous attitude and drive to grow great pot. I think a key (and I know I'm new here) attribute that was not touched on is the enjoyment of it. The textures, the smells, the sights, the entire experience of it. I believe you must have a certain level of love for growing to do well.....not just about the money.

The nuance of growing is a fulfilling experience, however cannabis can be grown by calculation
with no feeling for anything more than the profits.

$1000...lmao, I spend that Just on nutes. I grow hydro, flood and drain to set up my grow room was well over 5gs. I'm a pretty good grower and I got 19 Oz my last harvest. Your setting yourself up for a major disappointment. You should learn about the plant and what it takes to grow before you jump in and think $1000 will get you anything. I studied for 3 months, read every book I could get my hands on them grew. If you had looked into this at all you would know $1000 in this game is nothing! Good luck!

This is true. It can be.....it just seemed to me that more attention to detail and dedication to growing = more yields anyway. Assuming all correct growing accessories, ect.

OP,
Whats the urgency? Why not just buy a tent, fixture and fan/filter. Then try and grow 3-4 to females in soil or hempy to harvest. This will give you some insight into whats needed for a larger expansion.
