My plant is in week 4 of flower. It's Strawberry Fields, growing in a 2x4x5 tent. 300W Mars Hydro blurple for light (believe it or not an upgrade from what my broke ass started with haha).

So far it's been doing pretty great considering the setbacks I've had. It vegged too long for many reasons, and is getting too big so I'm having to keep a REAL close eye on the tops of the cola. Obviously I don't have a strong lighting situation, but the pistils of the highest flower were within 10in which anything stronger than a CFL would burn.

Anyway, I've been looking around for something to promote her bud growth, since its entire grow has been slow. I remember reading amazing things about Golden Tree, but I need the phosphorous still. I found their Flower Stacker, and it's a NPK of 0-7-5 so it seemed like exactly what I need.

Just curious if anyone else has tried this stuff out yet?

Monopotassium phosphate is extremely cheap and a main component of many of the designer bloom enhancers. But you are limited by your light. You would be better off saving your money towards better lighting than dumping stuff on your plants.

Ah. I'm upgrading the light as soon as I get the time. Someone actually sent me a 600W HPS to use for flowering - I just work full time and haven't had the chance to figure out where to put my other tent.

I'm looking up Mykos now. It's only ten bucks cheaper, cheaper yeah but not something that will put me in the dog house. Returning the other crap will probably cost me more in this case to get around to all these places haha. Correct me if I'm wrong but the instructions I'm reading are saying to only apply it once, at planting? My plants already in flower and I'm looking to give it a boost now. Would applying it topically and watering have the same impact? I feel like it would be a bandaid at this stage, ya know?

I'm willing to chalk this down to a newb mistake for 10 bucks, if it'll do what I need it to do. Is there anything like way cheaper that would make returning it worth it? All the information is appreciated, by the way.

I don't like the ratio of P to K in MPK......P is too high

Lightly raise the K levels....ALWAYS stop K supplementation at the bulking phase or the last 2 weeks at least...

P is more a ripening agent, in the long run....Where many get that "early" leaf yellowing from.

227 gram of Potassium sulfate - available on ebay or Amazon....I say only use the product from Greenway biotech - 0-0-53
1.5 tsp of DARK brown sugar
1 gallon of RO water

You just made a 6% K sulfate supplement for about 3 bucks a gallon vs the $75 - over $100 a gallon name brand one's!

Start use at the flip - 5ml per gallon of feed.
Increase to 7.5 - 10 ml after the stretch
STOP use for the last 2-3 weeks...(I prefer stopping the last 3)

Yes it is high in P. But it is still used quite a bit in the industry for all of those fancy supplements people buy. When I use chemical salts it's part of the base nutrients and only used in small amounts. The only additions I use beyond the base nutrients was magnesium sulfate and then potassium sulfate based off of your recommendation. I used it for a grow or two before my current foray into making my own super soil. This is what I bought and it is inexpensive. I didn't get the Greenway biotech brand but this is still technical grade and organic.

Is that solution stable in water for... one year? Because it can last for ages to use it completly!

Yes!

You can always halve or quarter the formula I gave you to make less...ALWAYS WEIGHT THE POTASSIUM SULFATE!

Alpha Chem is good!
I prefer the Greenway, because it dissolves into solution much easier. It's built to do that, for making plant nutrients.

NO, I don't shill for Greenway. lol

Mykos is a wettable power. Sprinkle on the soil and mix in. Then feed or water. It's that easy.

They don't tell you that but it works.
Okay so the grow store I go to was selling the 2.2 lb bag of Mykos (granular) for $30, Amazon has it for $20. Looks like there is also a "wettable powder" version, but it's way more expensive.

Are they the same stuff, or do I need to spring for the actual powder?

This is the wettable version:
https://www.amazon.com/Xtreme-Gardening-2202-Wettable-12-Ounce/dp/B004KPKAZQ/ref=pd_sim_86_53?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B004KPKAZQ&pd_rd_r=EE7XAY9BTGQQ2R05DW1S&pd_rd_w=PIiUP&pd_rd_wg=LxtKf&psc=1&refRID=EE7XAY9BTGQQ2R05DW1S

And the normal one:
https://www.amazon.com/Xtreme-Gardening-4402-Mykos-2-2-Pound/dp/B003STB5N6/ref=pd_bxgy_86_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B003STB5N6&pd_rd_r=PH4Z3GBDC47WQP2V3WY3&pd_rd_w=qsvHC&pd_rd_wg=EOnyz&psc=1&refRID=PH4Z3GBDC47WQP2V3WY3

The normal one is fine. Instructions will tell you to mix in at planting but top dress with it and wash it down in a regular watering or feeding. Nutes will not hurt it.

That's a good buy. I just added a bag to my cart. This stuff is a game changer. The key to Pro Mix.

Got another one with the phony organic labeling I see.

Organic by definition has carbon in it but potassium sulfate has none and by definition is classified as an inorganic salt. It should say derived from natural potash deposits but it wouldn't matter if it were made in a fertilizer factory from potassium chloride and sulfuric acid it's the exact same thing. Over 95% of potassium sulfate is made through this process as it's the chloride salt that is actually dug out of the ground then reacted with the acid to make the K2SO4.

Should be illegal to label it organic but so much stuff out there for plants or food is labeled organic when it's not even close.

I use the term "Organic" loosely.

I know that the labeling is misleading. There really isn't any reliable entity to verify true organic or not. But yeah, it says organic on the label but that doesn't mean anything.

It's crap really. AN has their California certified organic hydro nutes now and ProMix calls theirs Organic-Based. I bought some to try it out then found out the liquid stuff I got has no micro-nutes. Just NPK.

Probably going to be seeing lots more BS like it once pot is legal here in Canada and everywhere fine crap is sold. :)

If nothing else the stuff should be very clean of contaminants like heavy metals or then it's a total ripoff. Have to start looking for independent lab reports.

:peace:
