Humidifier

I assume I will have to get humidifier to reach 70 % rh for seedlings and young plants. Any suggestions on which brand to buy. Any why that one ?

How big an area/volume you need to humidify is a factor and if you are ventilating/exchanging air then you may never hit 70 depending on the ambient numbers.

Are u saying that they need a humidifier regardless by sounds of it

Honestly for seedlings and young plants one could use a dome, like a 10x20 flat with a dome on it. That would be a lot easier to keep at 70%.

If you are venting the tent then you are just blowing out the humidification. Honestly you can veg plants just fine at lower humidity numbers as well so I wouldn't stress on trying to achieve 70% except perhaps for rooting clones and starting seedlings which can be done in a dome.

I’m learning as well. As I have heard great results from what @Renfro mentioned from above. I decided to invested the time and $$$ on humidifiers and meters to control the 70%+. As mentioned it’s hard to maintain that level of humidity, but there are ways. From my experience, again very limited I have to keep a very close eye to maintain the levels. So above may be best if time and $$$ and SPACE is limited.

I ordered the taotronics 4L for 70 bucks. It’s on the way figured it will make my job easier.

Dome and heating pad same price. Lol. Figured humidifier best bet

If you're talking about the one that's digital I've had it before. It's a good humidifier but I'd recommend running outside of a grow tent to avoid humidity spikes that can clog your carbon filter.

What does that mean exactly cuz I know I can’t keep outside tent for smell

Or do I mean put on ground by vent and let mist get sucked in ?

You need to pipe it in with like a reptile humidifier

Like with ducting tube ?

What’s does that solve tho whether it’s not in or out tent? I will listen and adjust if it makes sense but it seems same same

Can u please go into more detail on this reptile style Humidifier is ultrasonic or something like that so it will not create heat But if u talk me into this I k ow I can pull it off I kusted wanted to know the benefits please. Thanks

I have the Ac infinity carbon which turns up by itself when humidifier reaches certain amounts so u hope that solves that. But because u have the same humidifier that I just bought I want to make sure to hear u out can u explain how it will help if I do what I say compared to just leaving it in tent. Please and thanks

Possibly this.... I don’t use one and haven’t ever but someone told me if space is limited to use this. The unit sits outside the tent and you use the hose to pipe in humidity. But beware of how the hose is ran if there is a kink you get water pools . Look into them it seems like a good idea . But with any of this stuff I’ve learned you need to keep a close eye until
You get it dialed in. I’m really new at all this so if anyone else has suggestions you agree with please use them I don’t feel like I’m an expert.

I'm just saying that I had a hard time with that particular humidifier because it would go up to 99% RH even when set to 60% if inside the tent. Ultimately it led to water leaking into base where the electronics are. I bought a new one and set it outside the tent with my carbon filter sucking in air through the bottom ports of my tent. That keeps it at a consistent relative humidity.

Maybe you won't run into that problem but it changed my humidity game for sure.

That’s understandable. I appreciate the explanation did u get any coverage from taotronics and what is ur new humidifier? U don’t use hose to send the mist in. U just leave by bottom tent vents ?
