I’ve been working on dialing in my bloom room environment. I’ve got mostly everything really steady except my rh.

The problem is the rh swings 10%-12% when the A/C kicks on. The temp stays pretty much constant, it’s just the rh that’s the problem.

Heres my set up:
I’m in a basement
7 1000w de
1 nextlight mega
4 oscillating fans
5ton a/c air handler
4 burner CO2 generator
110ppd dehumidifier
190ppd dehumidifier

until recently I had the air handler just blowing directly out the habasket, now I have vinyl ducting with holes running down the sides. This helped my temp spikes.

What whatever I set the dehumidifier to the spike still occurs.

what can be done to help this? Is this even a problem as long as I keep within a safe range?

I am attaching a picture of my room with the ducting a screenshot of the last hour.
The screenshot reflects the last hour. The rh is a bit high but that’s because I’ve been tinkering all day (week, month even). FB7025EE-7F6D-43C3-A864-7A1CB4C24CCF.pngF64AC278-B17F-4E32-92E4-40CE036DCBAF.jpeg

Refrigerated acs also remove moisture from the air.
I wouldn't worry about humidity. I grow at 70-90%without any bud rot issues.
Google up a thread called "lies our fathers told us".
Also a medicropper YouTube also grows in high humidity now after seeing the results he had when something fked up and he was seeing water on the walls.
Look how my chart is, green being outside (was raining when it's at 100) and blue in my room.

"when the AC kicks on" do you mean it does short on/off cycles?

with well sized inverter you should never get short cycles
just modulation of the compressor speed depending on the needs

if your invertr turns on/off often it's probably oversized for the room (you see it's off when the outdoor unit fan stop running)
it would explain the rh flucutuations

but honestly 10% changes is not a big deal

I’ve noticed that it’s better to keep it consistently higher with good air circulation.

so far it’s been better.

I think my ac condenser is over sizes. The fan is set to “on” the condenser does turn on and off it only slows down in the winter to keep from freezing (or whatever technical hvac thing that allows me to use my ac in the winter). Now that it’s warmer it cycles pretty often.
But I’ve noticed the 10% isn’t that bad.

thanks for the input.

can you remind me what is the formula for figuring how much ac we need to combat co2 generators lights and dehumidifier

is your 5 ton AC inverter ? or just all or nothing technology (no speed modulation for the compressor) ?

to estimate your need you want to add all the wattages of the room (lights + fan + dehus ...)

then you know approximatively how much heat your system produce

but depending on the time of the year it vary greatly ..

during winter my AC run very slow because cooling needs are lower .. because there is cold convecting through the walls .. but i need my dehumidifier to run even during the day because the AC is not running hard enough to dehumidify the room

during the summer its different, the AC run in cool mode even during the night so there is less dehumidification needs
but mor refrigeration is needed ..

it also depend of the location of the room.. if it's isolated etc

Can you tell me where your humidity probe/reader is placed in your grow? Inside canopy? Above Canopy? Are you using HID or LED light? THanks
