I cannot believe how many people will get this wrong. It's fucking embarrassing.

Hydrocarbons are molecules of carbon bonded with molecules of hydrogen. The formula for them is times 2 plus 2. If there is one carbon, there are 4 hydrogens. Two carbons, 6 hydrogens. In order from 1 carbon to 10:

Methane: CH4 (natural gas)
Ethane: C2H6 (used to make plastics and as a refrigerant)
Propane: C3H8 (as in your grill)
Butane: C4H10; Isobutane: C4H10, an isomer of butane. (lighter fuel and aerosol propellant)
Pentane: C5H12
Hexane C6
Heptane C7
OctaneC8
Nonane C9
Decane C10

C3 through C7 above can be used as botanical extraction solvents. C3 and C4's are by far preferred in the industry. These can be used pure or blended with one another. Extraction grade hydrocarbons are > 99.5% pure and are completely odorless with < 1 ppm sulfur species in them.

We buy in bulk and fill them in Ohio. Here's analysis of the hydrocarbons we blend:

Let me/us know if you have any questions or comments. I've been in the gas business for decades and would be happy to assist.
