So I'm new to hydroponics and wanted to start a dwc... I was just wondering what some people use for nutes or just water?. Also I'd like to know if anyone uses hydrogen peroxide and if so does it stimulate root growth? Or help with oxygen? Or to keep roots healthy? All feed back is appreciated :leaf:

Well I use tap water that is bubbled 24/7 and I use Microbe life (fruit/veg enhancer) and the General hydro flora series. I have used H2O2 but only when I dropped a plant from some form of bacteria, I just used the H202 to clean the roots and to clean the bucket. The Microbe life is crazy, I saw a change in less then 24hrs between a plant that i used it on and a plant that i didnt use it on. THE BEST ADVICE to you is to read the sticky threads...they are FULL of all the info you will need :bigjoint: *cheers*

yes H2O2 can be used with great advantages, I even use it in my soil, tho not on a regular base, I do in my hempy bucket

not only will it add oxygen, but will also keep your res. clean (in soil it will also kill any Bug`s) and can even be used to mist with in case of mites or mildew etc. I keep a 1L bottle in the fridges

I almost killed a whole crop messing around with hydrogen peroxide. The plants wilted for 3 days, and finally came back. I would run a good commercial pump if i were you. Dont skimp on the air. The more air the merrier. I use a 280 watter that runs 3-8 buckets and i have never had any root issues since. My roots are neon white.

Imho, The less you put in your buckets the better. Took me a while to figure that out. Good luck to you.

yea be careful with the H2O2 specially if its the stronger type`s

the 3% from any drug store would be pretty hard to over do Im sure, don't even think it would matter if you used it direct out of the bottle, but the stronger once, specially the 60% they use in the food industries would be lethal for the plants in pure form, would even burn your hands instantly if you spill (use gloves when you mix/delude it)

The peroxide is handy for keeping your rez sterile. I have a jug and only use it as a preventative really. As far as nutes, I use GH Maxi-gro and Maxi-bloom. I have never had a PH issue because it's well buffered, and it's about 1/10 the price of most of the weed nutrient snake oil crap.

8 drops per 5 gallon bucket... Never again.
i actually used it to save a soil grow...mixed it almost to 3% and watered with it.

soil fizzed and everything i am sure it was inert after that.

it totally bleached the soil too looked more like coco afterwards.

i had previously watered with neem per dynagro instructions and ended up with a big plant choking glob of neem in the bottom of the pots.

plants were thirsty pots still felt heavy...root rot started in yada yada they were goners anyway

peroxide saved that crop for sure.
