Hydroponics Guide?

Hey,

I still have a few question regarding mainly drip re-use systems.

Is there a guide I should read regarding care and feeding? I have read a couple but neither described nutrient amount during flowering.

I'm using Canna Flores A+B 3/ml/l as prescribed. The plant is yellowing slightly and some of his leaves are quite yellow. I change the water every week or so and top it up with just normal water daily.

I'm considering using Blackstrap Molasses to give it a boost.

I keep the PH @ ~ 6.3
Using a 150W HPS.

Thanks!

So you think it's a nutrient overload?

Do you think I should add something else like blackstrap molasses or epsom salts? Or is it better to just cut nutes by 50% and then flush when I see amber hairs?

Thanks!!!

It's hard to diagnose plants over the interwebs but it looks like you've got a good case of nute burn. Don't use molasses in hydro and unless you're lacking sulfur and magnesium, don't use epsom salt either. Dumping popular items on your plants without knowing exactly what they do is how you hurt your plants even more. Again, I think a good starting point is cutting your nutes back and adjusting your pH to around 5.8.

I would say just the opposite, you have a deficiency going on there, I would not tell you to add more nutes but to get your PH in check, Hydro should be 5.5-6.0, you have a small window where nutes are available to your plants, it you don't keep you solution there then the things start to get locked up, and your plant will show a deficiency no matter what your ppm is in any ratio.

To me it looks like Iron, Calcium or Magnesium deficiencies maybe all three, most of the time in hydro this is PH related, seeing how the plant uses such small amounts of these. Good luck and let us know,

A good way to test this is to use a foilar spray and give it some Cal-Mag and see if it stops getting worse......JR

Thanks! heaps for the replys.

I will check the PH again. and adjust if appropriate. I may do a flush aswell. then I will re-add nutrients at 50% strength.

Thanks again.

Well pay attention when you flush, if for any duration, I would guess that your plant will look worst. JR

PH is at 6.4 and res temp is 22c. I will clear res and try aim for about ph of 5.5-5.9. I will just run the water for about 20m and then add 50% nutes and check PH and adj if appropriate.

I appreciate your feedback. Wouldn't flushing solve the issue of locked out nutes due to high ph as it will lower everything back to normal?

you say you top up everyday with normal water

this also needs to be in the right ph range

also it will reduce your ppm everyday so this could be a factor
