when I made mine. I just used large totes. 35 gallon. I didn't need the pond liner. The chicken wire isn't necessary.


Its still cheaper and easier to go with 30 gal fabric pots. they're cheaper than even just the totes alone. Wood is cheap. Pond liners are not though. The hydroton will get pricey too.

it doesn't really work like that. The plants don't compete for space. They work together. So its not 7.5 gal per plant. Its 30 gals for a giant root ball . The roots have more side to side space as well .

I found a half zip of trim / shake that I had in the back of the cupboard. I don't have any smoke. So it turned into digging through drawers and cabinets

Have you tried making rosin from dry trim? I just went and got a digital straightener and tried for an hour to make it work but I never got a single bit of anything extracted. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it just won't work with trim. I tried all temp settings and different lengths of time from 2 to 10 seconds

trim you want to do like hash . Place between a 25µ screen and parchment and press. But around 300°. Hash at 230°. It doesn't work with every strain. It wouldn't work.with my mojos og and I couldn't get it to work on fresh frozen either.

with trim its better to make.dry sift then press it. Use a 25µ screen.
 
Would it be worth it for someone to run all of their trim like this? Do you have any idea what kind of return you get with trim?

possibly. I'd just make bubble or.dry sift. Then make rosin out of 25µ, 45µ, 160µ, 190µ. Keep the 73µ, 90µ and 120µ as ice wax / bubble / sift. Also with dry trim and flowers you want to cure for a couple months first. So terpenes polymerize.

return is the same as bubble 10%- 25% IWith hash to rosins its a 50% return. So hash rosin ends up being 10% from original trim or flowers anyway.

apparently ph can change the consistency of bubble. Higher ph 9.0-11.5 can make it more glassy / waxy lower ph will make it more like beach sand. But you would need an ionizer to change the ph.
 
@werm11 I've noticed that longer cured buds produce more rosin than less cured or uncured. so for newer material. May be fresh frozen to bubble to rosin would be best. Or at least a couple months faster.
