Yes indeed, a red Skittle was sitting on my floor and I'm debating whether or not I should eat it. The floor is made of solid concrete that is quite dirty. The skittle is cracked but not crushed. It is missing about half of the "S" and has some small chips out of the coating on the reverse side. There are no hairs on it, but I did rub some dirt off when it was found. Should I eat it? I will save it in a plastic bag until we have some clear results.

Post a picture. It's a complex question your asking and with out more info it will be hard for me to make up my mind. My feeling for now is go ahead and eat it but I don't want to vote until I see the actual skittle.

j/k :lol: but post a pic anyway...

LMAO...When was the last time you had a bag of skittles and how old could the little dirt dirt have been on the floor. Is the top or bottom of the s on the skittle missing it makes a difference.

Let me understand......you have a very dirty concrete floor, upon which you've found a rather tathered looking skittle, missing some chunks out of it, part of the "S" is missing, so it obviously has been knocked around quite a bit before you found it.

So you've (a) saved the skittle by placing it into a plastic baggie, (b) actually posted this question, and (c) you are waiting on our vote to decide what to do with it?

Well gee dude, light a joint, get the munchies, than eat that sucka!
Peace

Not an easy question to answer. I think you need to determine the length of time it's been sitting there on the dirty floor, the humidity and temperature and the foot traffic frequented by that location. You would need to apply hearmenow's inverse theory of decomposition. This basically states there is an inverse relationship between sugar decomposition (sd) and temperature (tmp), time (t), humity (h) and "steppedonness" (st, the number of times the skittles was stepped on). You also need to factor in "suckedness" (sk, time already sucked by previous owner.

sd=(t*tmp*h)/(st*sk)

This formula will SCIENTIFICALLY tell you if you should eat it.

if u have a handheld microscope make sure the tricromes on the skittle are finished before u eat it. curing on the floor is good, bc the open air exchange.. u can always sample a piece of it to see if its ready yet. i'd personally let it sit on the floor a few more days from the looks of it.
