hi, its my first time growing indoors and i was just wonder how much the plants grow when you switch them to 12/12 because i am limted to a small grow room and the plants can only get about a foot or maybe a foot and a half
i was also wondering if you really need to add nutrients also

thanks and smokestrongbongsmilie

Hi 4:20 - welcome to the site!

Plants normally double, but can triple in size after switching to 12/12.
Since your space is limited, you may want to consider growing a plant designed for smaller stature. I understand lowryder is bred to be short and still have good yield though i've never grown it.

I would recommend getting some good quality nutrients but wouldn't go overboard. A popular brand with a grow and bloom or base, grow and bloom would be fine. Though i've never tried growing without them since food (or nutrients) is one of the five elements of successful plant growth. The other four being: Light, Water, Atmosphere (fresh air), and Temperature.

Tin or aluminum foil is usually frowned upon because the shiny side can crinkle and make hot spots. You can use the dull side or better yet just use flat (not shiny or gloss) white paint.

You can also use mylar but it can be kind of pricey and must be hung flat. Another thing to consider is using PandaPlastic - it is durable and the white side is a good reflector. You can also clean it easily.

no problem. i wouldn't waste a lot of money on nutes. if you're going to drop a lot of money - do it on lights.

topping, pruning, and tying are excellent ways to deal with too much vertical growth - if that is even a problem for you. But excellent lights keeps the plant from stretching in the first place.

If you dont have alot of space vertically to work with grow em wide. bend the plants and form em to your grow space . had a friend that grew plants the would of been 6ft tall, but after bending and wrapping them around in a big oval, they took up space about 2' x 2'. just be creative in how ya get even light to as much of the plant as possible.
Good luck. :joint:
