I have an HLG question regarding 300LRspec and a 260w DIY kit

Ok so i tried getting peoples opinions on the 300L but no one bit. I wanted to see if someone might be able to give me their opinion on the two different boards and if one might be better then the other in my situation. I need a nice efficient light for around the 300 some mark.

I saw the heat fins on the DIY and i am thinking that it would have a more superior heat dissipation, but i could be wrong. I am a sucker for red so the 300L to me looks pretty sexy. The 300L has about 10 more watts but that seems negligible. Im looking to buy either today so if anyone could chime who has experience with the two i would really really appreciate the response. Thanks everyone.

One thing about HLG is they pull numbers out of their ass when naming products. Some are based on current draw at the wall while others are based on the output of the drive. Even better....the two items your looking at both use a Meanwell XLG-240 driver with one rated at 260W draw and the other at 270W draw. Maybe their web designer is hitting the bong bongsmilie and spending too much time on RUI, just like us. So you really need to look at the actual hardware used.

These options all run at 240 watts output and use QB288 boards. It's up to your DIY skill level and wallet what you want to do.

Maybe I am not like most other growers but max watts means nothing to me, its all about efficacy! So if you want to grow the best plants in the most efficient way always run any samsung tech boards at no more than 3/4 of their max rated diode array power! For example all my HLG 260 v2 with red(s), and the 2 x 300L I have, all are run at 180watts in my seeding/flowering rooms, so each board runs at 84.6 watts, which is the max power each board gets when the driver is being run at 180watts less the loss due to the driver's efficacy. Why? Because I have done the comparison time and time again, for example 2 x 260 v2 with red in a 4 x 4 growing 4 plants, 1 plant under 1 single board, will grow the same amount of bud whether running each 260 v2 with red(s) at 180 watts at 11 inches or at 250 watts at 14 inches from the canopy top! Like I said its all about efficacy when it comes to samsung tech, as max power means absolute shit when it comes to samsung tech! And as for which kit is better, well I always want the latest and greatest, giggles, but I have done that comparison to, and the 260 v2 with red(s) and the 300L grow the same amount bud, no more no less!
