Cannabis Cup is very selective. They sample only a very very small amount of cannabis from around the globe. Even if there was or is a title of such decree does not mean you are a all knowing grower. It just means that you had some bud that a select few thinks is the shit. I am pretty sure that most would acknowledge that the greater majority of the bud in this world will never see such contest as Cannabis Cup. I personally dont need Cannabis Cup to tell me that my bud is good. Its Organic, and does the job for me. I WIN! Thats all that matters to me

This is the only marijuana cultivation forum I've subscribed to, so I can't comment on what grasscity is like.
I believe that all growers should be encouraged, assuming they've done some research into growing beforehand. I can't stand vague questions like 'how do I grow weed?' or 'my plant is dying, what's wrong with it?' without posting any pics or details of their grow. Questions like that, in my opinion, deserve to go unanswered on any and all forums because it's clear the grower is too lazy to do any homework.
Growing doesn't need to be difficult or too complicated, but it does usually need a certain degree of good management if you want to achieve worthwhile results. People tend to get back what they put into their grows - decent care paid to the grow with a reasonable amount of money spent, and it is just bad luck if your grow fails.
But people with a genuine interest in growing shouldn't pay any attention to negativity from a few douchebags. Don't let the fuckers get you down, dude. Grow with whatever lights you feel like, and if you're putting effort into it most people here will be interested to see the results. I would.

There is an enrollment form if you think your bud is up to par send your application and sample, I never said it makes you an all knowing grower I am simply pointing our there is a world championship title, The majority of bud does make it into the competition because there is not a massive amount of decent strains. Its more about how you grow it aka my point in this topic

I appreciate the information. However, I will pass respectfully. I am not a competitive grower/smoker. I just do what works for me and makes me the happiest. I agree that there is a World Title, but it doesnt mean its a respectable one, at least in my opinion. I agree, its all about how you grow. Likewise, I am a retired Botanist. Yes I studies Plant Biology. I also spent a nice amount of time researching how to cultivate cannabis to greatest Organic Degree possible. SUb from TGA or even Don from DNA can atest that I can grow like no tomorrow. Its what I do full time for a living, and moreso as a passion. Check out my previous grow journals if you want.
I also agree that there is not a massive amount of decent cannabis genetics out there. But in due time, with better breeding, and stabilization of genetics that topic will improve.

CFL's are fine, I use 125w of them for veg but use a 400W HPS for flowering, just started my first CFL grow solely because running a HPS costs a lot more..

Of course you will pass I did not even imply you should enter because I know you do not have the quality. But just because in your one opinion its un-respectful does not make it anywhere near that, You just have to look at the purpose of the competition and the people who attend. Maybe you are a plant biologist and researched cannabis. But I highly highly doubt it I mean come on all about how you grow? What about harvesting, curing and drying. Not to mention handling...transportation....method of storage.....The list goes on. Also plant biology does not deal with plants like cannabis
I was banned from grasscity for calling out this jag named shaggyGT on there. He was always talking out his ass. Then recently I started to question some of his posting and there validity next thing I know I am having my postings erased so I called him out on that too then I got banned. They sent me a gay message saying we have to let you go brother your to negative. Wow is all I can say. I was really starting to think that website wasn't for me anyway. Seemed like a lot of immature kiddies trying to grow some dope and stroke each others ego's. So I guess I will survive. Think RIU is better anyway. Think this time around I will try not to get in a pissing contest with people who can have me banned for calling them out on their BS.

please explain how i would get 182 watts of 2700k spectrum in a computer case without spending money on ventilation? cfl man.. its my only option really... lol.. price and equipment wouldnt be worth it for a personal grower like me... if i ever decide to get offmy bud, i'll go big... hps and mh all the way, but for now, in my ignorant state, im going cfl for sure...

Yeah there site is bullshit, I mentioned something about Tylenol then a mod sent me a message saying no talk of other drugs so I sent him a message saying don't you agree that mods are useless? So I guess he had his panties up in a bunch and banned me.

They banned me because some users were arguing and getting stick on a tobacco thread so reported it, i got a message back from somebody called SIRSOG saying it was in the rules and was allowed, so replied back saying ''well can you not maybe look into some of the users posts because it seems to be escalating a bit out of control. ''
