Ok so I'm going to be brewing compost tea in a 5 gal bucket and I need help with a recipe for seedlings and veg.

Here is what I have so far.

Gaia Green Worm Castings

Gaia Green Kelp Meal 1-0-3

Gaia Green Blood Meal 14-0-0

Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate 0-13-1

BlackStrap Molasses

Without having to dilute it in a 5 gal bucket would this be a good amount or should I use more or less.

1 cup Worm Castings
2 tbs molasses
1/2 cup kelp meal
I would check out this site http://microbeorganics.com/ . I personally would just use the castings/molasses for a compsot tea to focus on the bacteria/fungi multiplying and make a nutrient tea (let some sit in water for 24-48 hours stirring a few times a day) with the kelp. I havent used a compost tea on my soils in a while and could probably benefit from it, but I try to top dress fresh compost/ewc regularly to keep the life thriving in the soil.

My understanding is that EWC/molasses only will make more of a bacterial tea, and kelp will make a more fungal tea. I'm no expert by any means though, lol. I too haven't made a tea in awhile, and have been just top dressing with EWC and other crap.

I don't dilute my teas. I also don't use any bags or filters on my pumps, so I consider it a feed and top dressing at the same time. I would suggest bubbling it for 24-48 hours personally. If you want a more fungal dominant tea, then brew for the full 48. If you haven't read Teaming with Microbes yet, you should. It's really helpful.

Yea, I'm far from an expert as well haha. That advice is great though OP and I doubt you find a better route than what he just advised. As long as you have enough air and don't overdue the molasses, I think you'll be fine. I've done it both ways, with the addition of amendments and just plain ewc/compost/molasses, and didn't notice a difference in either being more effective to be honest. Always resulted in praying plants. the top dress of the unbroken down amendments will just prolong the feeding and reproduction of the microbes at soil level, so maybe that is the better recipe in the long run.

I'm also top dressing with Gaia Greens All Purpose 4-4-4 in veg and 2-8-4 in flower. I'm just using the tea for more micro biology not really a feeding and am using nylons to hold the EWC and kelp meal I'm brewing in the tea. And thanks for your input it helps a lot and I will defenatly give that a read.

My best advice, skip the high phosphorus inputs and swap them out with micronutrients. You will see why, your plants will start to fade yellow and you will think that it is a N def when really it's Iron Chlorosis from high P and locking out your iron and other minerals. Also, if this tea is for seedlings, skip the kelp because it's high in sodium. Sodium is detrimental to seeds/seedlings...

Mineralized phosphate is for flower it’s guano... just amend the all purpose 4-4-4 for veg every 3 weeks and maybe sum blood meal half way thru cuz it’s 14-0-0... then I’d mix the power bloom Gaia 2-8-4 @70-80% and 25% being 4-4-4 for bloom, add the mineralized phosphate 2nd week of flower as if it’s a bud booster like monster bloom or big bud by advanced... its probly better than “big bud” tbh .. I donno tho I do like big bud it works amazing...

Top dressing/amending is probly the least used, most effective way to use stuff like Gaia green... Dagda is some of the best fertilizer I’ve ever used for weed outside and I only had to make a circle trench and put a shot glass of green nerd looking things, twice and the red nerds (Dagda bloom) once like August 10th and it made my plants yellow out perfect for the chop the middle of September.. never overlook these products boys I’ve done Side by side tests and just cuz it don’t got a cute picture on the bottle don’t mean it ain’t str8 fire for any plant

Cuz think about it for a second, u too dress and it slow release feeds it basically the maximum amount of food a plant can receive in a day it will be getting it, probly unlike your water soluble regiment of plants.. just do a side by side boys n see for yourself ur gonna have a lot of work PH ing water and mixing shit like ur a scientist just to match the quality of something like Gaia green or a good all purpose organic fertilizer. Just check out Canuck grows he uses Gaia, I’m using it this year outdoors side by side with this advanced nutrients micro grow bloom I will post every feeding between June and September and u guys will be shocked! Guarantee it

Biggest plant ever grown outdoors it was a 1-1.5lb plant for sure but I yielded 1/4 pound cuz my first year growing and I did a lot of shit wrong, cutting 3 weeks early too didn’t help.. guess what I used for nutrients... I made a supersoil mix of compost cow manure (like 50 year old stuff in behind the manure pile and it’s dark and rich an got a soil texture by now) and sum bone n blood meal.. I mixed it with regular supersoil from the grocery store ( just regular black peat style soil without perlite) .. I didn’t have perlite that year and they were monsters... ever since I been doing like 65 outdoors so I can’t dig massive holes for everyone all I do is usually take few digs out of ground fill it then make a nice mount rounded up on top of the ground (sucks later on when plants get big and u gotta water em like 3 gal of eater a day but the mount won’t take in water right away it just streams down it and away lol) ... but yeah I’ve done it multiple ways, if u guys want giants dig big holes and fill it with 100s of pounds of homemade supersoil mix. Swear to god yas will shit when u see the results

See I'm having a hard time following what your saying my water soluble regiment. I'm just using the EWC, Molasses, and kelp too boost micro biology not as a feeding, the other stuff I've been pre mixing the soil and top dress when needed. I'm doing the exact way Mr canuk grows does uve been watching him for over a year. Pluse I'm growing indoor I wish I could grow monsters like that but don't got a good grow season out here.

What do you not understand I will break anything you want down for ya, I have 13 yrs experience outdoors and this is my 2nd indoor crop my first crop I did 17 autos under 1K in a 10x9 room n yielded 24.5oz ...the environment was nasty for me up there too at buddies house but I still pulled a solid crop , this is my very first indoor 5x5 tent grow where I can control what I want

There 16 er 17 days old I think.. Oh sorry man I was totally being stupid you were talking about bottled shit and yeah that's why I decided to use Gaia green and compost tea because it was so frustrating to adjust the ph all the time and hoping your not over feeding or under feeding it's always a battle with bottled nutrients.
