i need new lights

what are some good lights i can get and where from. we are looking to grow about 6 plants.. any help would be awsome or ideas. thx

i prefer hid lights some ppl prefer cfls,,,,its your choice,,,id say atleast a 400watt hid will be fine for 6 plants but if you aint got good ventilation and cant afford any then get some cfls.peace

check craigslist in your area, sometimes you'll find a greenhouse that went down and has mad hid's for wicked cheap. Go for one 400w MH and one 400w HPS, 250w should work decently enuf for 6 plants as well. It'll prob require some simple wire splicing but you could save a few hundred bucks if it works out.

i am looking at going to CFLs?? what do i need to look for when buying these bulbs??

Cheap route - you can buy 8x 6000K light temp 23watt CFL's and a vanity light fixture with 2-way splitters all under 50 bucks. Later on down the road u switch to 8 warm 2300K temp CFL's for flowering. I'm using a 600 watt digital HPS and I love it and so do my babies
