I need some help choosing a system?

Hi,

I used to grow about 8 years ago and always used soil so I do have the experience, I am now looking to get setup again but I'm wondering what would the best system be to use now days?

I have been looking into the RDWC systems and they seem pretty neat, veg fast and good yeild but I'm just wondering what the final quality of the bud will be? A friend grew a Aero plant a while back and pulled about 20oz off it but it was almost like spongy type weed no dense nugs, I know he didn't cure it for more than a week so I'm just wondering If I was to properly cure an Aero grow could I acheive the same quality buds as a soil/coco grow? or is there a telling difference?

So its either RDWC, DWC or Drip and flood, NFT? what is the best option to take what system is the majority using in these times? Also would you go with coco or airstones still need to do a bit of research myself but I just want to settle on the system to be used, like I say I have plenty of experience growing in soil.

Please help me decide! thanks.

i know its not wat you wanna hear but its all up to you, yr abilities, yr grow space, and the size of yr wallet.
if you ask me whats the best, i'll say coco, but thats what works for me and my space. hell, try something new if yr so inclined. read up on all of them and make the call.

I grow dwc and would love to run rdwc but just can't due to space.
So i'd say any hydro method, whenever i see folks growing in soil on here their plants never look to have grown as fast as mine.(soil growers will love that comment)
Cannot comment on coco, have no knowledge of it at all so that is not considered in my input.

As for the buds it really depends on the strain, lights and so on. I have grown completely different buds from another in the same setup but different strains. One was very dense nuts and the next was fluffy and complete opposite of dense, so that depends on the strain the most i'd say. I would def not discount hydro by your friends buds at all.

Just curious...how did your soil grows go? If great then why change? Personally I prefer natural growth in soil. Better control, not quite as costly, no expensive and potentially plant killing equipment failures etc. Not too say that other systems won't work well. I know a lot of growers have great success using the systems you are considering.

Good Luck and Great Growing
