How Do I change the format of a file ima just be honest so its easy to explain me and my girl made a porn on this POS VuPoint PC camera/digi and I want to make it a mpeg or whatever is the movie file and when I click on it, it asks what program to open the file with and I always use Media Player for obvious reason's but there's got to be a way to change it for good so when I click on it it automaticly knows its a movie file and play's thansk for the help

seriously though you left click the file.
Then click Properties
Then go to where it says "Open With"
Click change
then change it to whatever you want.

Since I helped do I get a copy??? :mrgreen::blsmoke::peace:

ya I tryed that and it wont let me check the box It will let me open it with media player but the box to open with is greyed out

you probably have to convert the file to mpeg...it sounds like a proprietary format that needs to be converted, what kind of file does it say it is ?

lol I go to properties and it say's file type:file hahah I have no clue! makin me mad I want this porn but thatnks for the help starchland!!

do a search for a converter of whatever format its in now to the format you want. should be able to download one online.

When the "Open With" box comes up when you try and open it, there should be a check box that says "Always use the selected program to open".

If you can't get that, do what nowstopwhining said. What you're looking for is right under File type: It says Opens With: and then there is a change button. Click that and select your program.

If you STILL can't get it, send it to me :mrgreen: I can convert it to any format you'd like. seriously just PM me

try downloading the "K-Lite Codec Mega pack", there is a free version that comes with lots of things that could help, it also installs media player classic which is better than media player by far..
