I really need some hydro help... feeling super discouraged and confused!

Oh yeah, this stoner math is hilarious. When I use GH 3 part I generally use 3-4 ml/gal of each part or just use 5 ml micro and 10 ml bloom per gallon
Do you use this rate with autos? Thinking I need to pop some photo seeds next! Ive read that autos are persnickety and I really need something forgiving!

The possible reason for your rise in ec in a bucket of water is that your meter is not temp compensating.

If your plant is overfed as suggested buy some, feeding 1.3ml per gal of each then I will be astonished.

534 us/cm on your meter is most likely know also as .5 ec

I think it’s underfed.

yeah all the customized ones are that GH chart cut in half pretty much.

Do you think my problem is because of not waiting after adding cal/mag or something else?
Its possible, especially if youre adding 6ml/gal of calmag I use it at 2.5-3.
The only other thing I can think of is maybe youre giving it too much calcium and causing lockout on top of already feeding light.
It still looks pretty textbook potassium def to me and this is the most logical scenario I can come up with.
Being that youre low its not getting a ton of K, but I wouldnt expect such severe signs.

Can you post a link to the exact meter you are using. That meter and how youre reading it and relaying information seems like a rather large variable here.

Ok, so I used 6ml TOTAL for the cal/mag... if I went full dose, my EC went too high! Seriously, you should see my excel sheets where I figured up how much every ml would raise my EC. My brain is hurting from this, haha! I knew I was under feeding but everything pointed to nute burn/lockout and that I needed to back up on nutes. So I aimed for 500 this last reservoir change, thinking it was small, an auto and suffering from nute burn... but it's only hurt it more!

Here's my EC meter. I've only had it a week or so. https://www.amazon.com/TDS-Water-Quality-Tester-Temperature/dp/B07GNMY8ZH

You will not kill any plants using 5 ml micro and 10 ml bloom per gallon. If you want me to blow your mind, I grow at .8 -1 EC. I am the worlds worst math teacher though so I can't explain it.
I'm doing a great job of killing plants, so maybe I'll take your challenge! Haha! Crazy thing is that I grow a huge garden, have a full orchard and vineyard and flower gardens all over my land but these suckers are really damaging my self esteem! Haha

Whoa, please explain temperature compensation with the meter! This is totally new to me.

I would remix with 2.5ml/gal calmag then do the 5/5/5 ml/gal then give it a few days and see how it goes.
From what i can see, youve got everything else right.

and @Bobby Long Buds looks to be correct. Your 534 is .5 EC. You meter is going to show 1-9999 (you should pretty much stay in the 0-2000 range) and you want to give that info in a scale of 0-2. 500 is 0.5 1000 is 1.0 1500 is 1.5 ect if talking about EC.
The one you linked does have temp compensation.

So forget what I said about calcium then.
Your plant is just severely underfed.
I add 2ml/gal of GH calimagic to my spring quality tap water. I mixed up a 50 gallon barrel of tap and calmag this afternoon and it has a 0.5 EC right now

Ok. Great. Thank you so much. This really helps. I'll start collecting RO water now. It takes me a little while with my pressure tank not being very big to collect enough. Do you think I'm okay with sticking to the 1/2 milliliter of hydroguard? It gives me a ton of relief to just follow a formula and not stress over EC values.

1/2ml of the southern ag should be fine for your size.
Cant find a better copy, but plenty of ppl have had success just following this. ignore the weeks and up it after your flip. repeat week 3 until they are healthy and youre ready to flower. 1 TSP = 5 ml

my starting EC was 518 for a 7 week old flowing plant. It jumped up to 585
so a few possibilities:
1. nute lockout
2. bugs
3. root rot
4. it's just too strong for the plant's needs
5. too low or too high room temps

maybe a few others that others can chime in with. now to figure out which one(s) apply to you.

Well shoot.. and I thought it was nute burn and overfeeding. If I add proper nutrients do you think she'll pop back?

1. So far the general consensus is that I'm under feeding... would that show similar symptoms to lockout?
2. Haven't seen any bugs.. anything in particular that I should be looking for?
3. I've looked at lots of pictures of root rot and while my roots seem to be stained from nutrients and Southern AG, I don't think I'm seeing any rot. Maybe time will prove me wrong, but at this point I don't think that is what is going on from the pictures I have seen. I'm not smelling anything either.
4. That's what I was wondering as well... I keep getting conflicting information though, whether I should drop my levels or raise them substantially!
5. Room temps have never gotten over 80 degrees. In fact, they stayed pretty steady at 80 when the light is on. I'm asleep when the light is off so I can't really tell you about that number, but I would assume it's lower.

This was actually the first formula I planned on following at the start of my grow... then I started obsessing over EC values and got way off track. Serves me well to think! Ha! And good on the southern ag. I'll stick with that. Thank you!

should, your new growth still looks good so itll probably be fine as long as the roots are still healthy. Vegging plants can get by with fairly little and can bounce back from a lot. If its happier, you should be able to notice in 2-3 days maybe even sooner.
The old growth thats already damaged wont get better, but you should see it stop spreading and the new growth should start pushing out faster again. Once youre satisfied youve fixed the issue you can just trim the ugly stuff off.

rky knows his shit but i dont think he read passed the first post on this one lol.

Awesome. Seriously thank you. I think at this point if it just doesn't die, I'll call it a success.

And just to be sure, these nute rates are good for auto plants? And increasing the nutrients suddenly is ok?

Yes! I've read many replies from Rky and I agree... wondered that myself. Glad to have some help at any rate!
