I really need some hydro help... feeling super discouraged and confused!

if you do need to try my way, dump your res, add RO water (no need to pH it), let it run for 24hrs, dump again and then refill with your regular nute regimen iwth a target of about 0.3 EC. then let us know.
Alright.. gotta back up plan too! You guys are awesome! I'll keep you posted. Fingers crossed!

Id still watch it, imo try to avoid top offs for a few days unless its starting to get to the point the root mass will be out of the water. Possibly top off with the same 4 + 3/3/3 solution if it needs it.
If you can get a good picture of what its doing over 3-4 days, it should be easier to tell whats going on.

Post # 2 there buy renfro is what I’m trying recently with drain to waste peat. I changed it to 6,6,6 ml per gal for each nutrient. Plus 2 ml per gal Cali magic. So far no burn or deficiency but I just entered flower. I realize you are running a dwc and that may change the feed schedule slightly.
My opinion on your meter is to stop checking everything so often, a 10 $ meter may just vary a bit each time. 100 ppm here and there won’t hurt anything.
Read through experienced growers like renfro’s grow log and you will learn lots. There’s lots of people here with 20+ years experience that just just love giving away good info for nothing.

Ok, great. I'll keep close tabs and take pictures. Hopefully I see some improvements! Thank you!

it does seem intense. The highest ive been up to is 2.0ec/1400ppm and those were monster plants that were bigger than me.
Well I dialed it back to 6,6,6 ml per gal so my truncheon reads 150 start ppm
And after all nutrients are in they’re at 900 ppm Or 1.8 ec.
I’ve not had any trouble vegging at 400ppm in the past I just had deficiency during bloom. Still learning just thought I’d try it renfro’s way.

i wonder if i can't hit those numbers b/c of my elevation? even with big plants, 1.2 is about as high as i could go. i am about 3000ft higher up than the Springs.
Ya know... ive never really put much though into the elevation.
Its a damn shame we cant do shit outdoors though, you could grow some really nice stuff up there.
The 6k foot above sea level mark im at is about the level you can start seeing side effects of altitude sickness, it really starts to get worse above 8k.
Looks like barometric pressure effects the mass per volume of co2 in the air and its less concentrated at higher elevation, so it could have something to do with that I guess?

there's tons of growers up here so who knows? we have a few people that we know that can't come visit us b/c of alt sickness. thye tried it and had to go back down to the Springs.

and sorry @Pyreonfire , sometimes threads go a bit off topic here at RIU.
Bahahaha! No worries.. I'm just over silently listening in on your conversation like a creepo! Kinda enjoying it though! Haha!
If im on here, im pretty much smoking or just smoked. sometimes I just get to chatting in the middle of posts like that. Seems to be a pretty common thing around here so im glad im not alone.
Im here to learn just as much as anyone else. Ive only been doing this a little over a year and a half now and try to broaden my knowledge whenever possible. Sometimes that just happens in other ppls posts lmao.

Lucky you! I'm hoping one of these days I'll grow something worth smoking otherwise, i'm joining you sober... having (believably or not) not smoked in nearly 13 years! Quit before I graduated college, had kids and am only now returning to pot. Crazy, huh? But before kids, I smoked my way through life. Can't wait to enjoy it again and to hopefully be able to fix my insomnia, too.

My stash has been empty for a few months now, been having to go to the dispensary until this crop is done some time in april. Having to pay for that and keeping the grow up at the same time has not been fun on my wallet!

Hey guys! I'm just wanting to touch points. A change the reservoir on Thursday evening with higher nutrients per your suggestions. Starting EC was 1200-ish, ph 5.5.

Let's face it, the plant looks like s*** however I do believe she looks happier. Her new growth looks Greener and even the way the leaves are pointing just look happier. Her Roots look better as well if you ask me. They almost seem like they have grown in the last few days. On a more objective note, she's definitely drinking. The water level is dropping and the EC is staying stable! However I'm not seeing the pH climb as I would like it too. It is sticking right about 5.5 where I started. It's been a few days, should I add a little bit of pH up to see if I can bring that range upward to allow for uptake of other nutrients?

Ok, so it's been a week since I increased the nutrients and I am definitely seeing improvement and the tip burn has stopped. I still feel like i'm seeing some yellow in the veins in the new growth. I tried to get some up close pictures of the new growth to show. Oddly, I'm seeing similar coloring with my 2 week old seedling that's in a different reservoir. Not sure what it could be. I'll attach pictures of both. Any guesses/suggestions?

Ph on the big one keeps dropping a little low, but a ml of ph up gets it back to about 6.3 and over the following day or so it drops to probably 5.2 before I push it back up. EC was originally about 1250... it bounces around a bit between 1250-1350 but the water is decreasing and it's looking better so I haven't panicked over the numbers. Roots look really bright and happy!
