to each his own i was taught by a Medical grower here in maine and i will go by his way as it works for me as my ratio of wet trim to butter i use a 4qt crock 4 Lbs of butter fill with 2 cups of water let that melt down together next i put trim in till it is level with the top of the crock make sure to push trim under butter water solution and really fill that crock up you want only a little bit of space to mix the solution once in awhile over the 24hr period you cook it when trim has reduced a bit you can ad a lil more water and thats it so i dont know exact weight but my butter came out the same every time. just because "you" do it one way and "you" like weed leaf particles in "your" food dosnt mean it is the right way just what "you" like to do.
