I'd like to setup a perpetual grow

Hey guys!

I currently have a "Spider Farm 2000" style 301b board inside a 32 x 32 x 63 grow tent.

I also have an older 600w Blurple amazon light:

I just ordered a 2 x 4 tent, and figured I'd fire the better light in it... (it's the right footprint for flower) and then use the blurple light for vegging in the older 32 x 32 tent...

Do you think the"600w" Chinese light will give me enough juice to veg two medium sized plants?

I was also going to run them in 12gallon DWC totes... 2 each... and swap lids/tents. Thinking about it now though... that may be overkill and/or too many nutes... or would soil be a better idea for perpetual growing?

Thoughts?

Its a 70w light called 600w , that's an all time record for power draw vs made up title wattage.

No unfortunately 70w is not going to be enough to veg well. Be good for clones but that's it.

Im not a fan of blurples at all but typically they do pretty good in veg, but unfortunately that's just not enough light in this case.
You could probably pick a cheap one up for similar price that's twice the true wattage which would be better.
Only thing is you never know how long they are going to last, because they are cheap shit lights.

You might be able to find a 150w cmh or metal halide if you look hard enough. I would rather veg with that than a cheap blurple.

Ya... Thanks man... I hadn't even considered anything other than LEDs... T5s seem to do a decent job...

Yeah, I agree completely with @coreywebster ... i wouldn't waste anymore time on that blurple ... honestly I don't even like how they veg plants even if it was enough light

I love my T5 in my 18x36 seedling tent. They can veg for a good long while under it ... ive kept some plants in there for over a month

Personally the only way I'd try a perpetual with DWC would be if I could just flip flop lightcycles ... like each tent would do a full grow, just one would be in veg while the other was in flower ... moving the plants is way too much hassle for me

To do it the way your planning I think soil or coco would be better, at least to start. It takes a bit to get the timing down on a perpetual grow.

I actually ran a setup very similar to yours for a while ... but I used the 2x4 for veg with the SF2000 and ran a 315cmh in the 32x32 for flower... I also had the aforementioned small tent for clones and seedlings.

To run a full perpetual with only 2 tents those sizes this is what I'd actually do.... Id keep the SF2000 in the 32x32 for flower and Id grab 2x 2ft T5 fixtures to go side by side in the new tent, then id put a small table on one side of the 2x4 for seedlings/cuttings under one light and have the full vegging plants under the other... that way you can keep the lights at variable heights to accommodate the plants at various stages ... just my 2 cents ... also just fyi I did flower in my 2x4 one cycle and found that despite their claims the SF2000 was a little under powered for flowering in there ... great for veg though.
