hello

I am a new poster here although I've been reading for a bit.

OG seems to be gone now... ?

Can anyone please help me identify these bugs. I think they're the ones harming my plants. Now I have babies...

How do I get rid of them ?

This is not what I was trying to grow...

never dealt with this before.

Thanks in advance.

My grow is away from my couch but I guess that could be a possibility. I kill them whenever I see em but they have babies now.... any idea what they are specifically so I can figure out the best way to get rid of them? the little fuckers are driving me nuts.

Get some plant safe bug spray and go to town. Since they fly, maybe try some sticky fly strips too.

Whatever it is, if it's feedin' on humans (couch-itch) then it's likely a predator and not a vegetarian?

Thanks for all of your help!

I tried some indoor bug spray but it didn't work. Bottle says not to apply again for another week so I guess I'll see if that does it. These little bastards are really getting on my nerves. >=|

would you say your plant is infested?
where is this grow room of yours located?

fuckit,

hello...

I was just in my grow space and killed 4 of the fuckers. I find them chilling around the brim of the cups on my babies and on the leaves just chillin, probably eating them.

I've noticed some brown spots on my leaves, on the outside and inside... also a few spots have chunks of the leaf missing.

My grow is located in my finished attic. Besides a couple of those little black jumping spiders these seem to be the only other bugs.

On a side note I'm wanting to re-pot my smaller plants into their bigger pots but twice now I've brought home dirt from the store to have it infected with those fungus gnats.

I'm not having much luck this go around...

Hmm...

Seems my bug spray doesn't do anything against these guys either.

New day new damage.

Killing them by hand isn't working...

and I think I have my first casualty.

Thanks for all the replies and if I find something that works I will post.

Letting your soil top 1" dry out should help eliminate the gnats.
I don't have gnats in my grow. They were just in some new dirt I bought for my repotting. Never made it to the plants...

I usually let my plants dry out pretty good before watering.

I moved my plants out of the attic space into their own cabinet in the house. Have not seen any of those fucking bugs since....

Babies are in critical but stable condition.

Now to get those bastards out of my attic...

The dirt that you purchased from the store should be cooked if its got bugs. Just put it onto a Large pan and cook it at 350 for at least 1hr. This will eliminate the bug problems in that soil :p

As for the bug, i did some searching and the closest i could come is the Cerambycid (long-horned wood-boring beetle)

If this is it the page i found him at is.. Common Pest's

If you are using potting soil with fertilizer in it you can't let the dirt get above 200 Fahrenheit. It will become toxic.

Get the dirt between 180-190 for 30 minutes to kill all eggs and the soil will still be safe.
