If the mother has small buds will the clones also have small buds?

So here's the deets:

Picked up some clones from a friend.
Saw where the clones came from & noticed his plants had good bud sights but were very wimpy in girth.
He told me it is because they were in some high temps while flowering.

Now, I am a DWC grower & he is a soil/coco grower.
These clones will be grown DWC with different nutes and different care.

Will these clones end up being just as skinny as his when they go into flowering?

My clones are about 3 weeks into flower vs their mother who is 7 weeks into flower and they have fatter buds than her but it could have been the molasses i had to lollipop her again, basically all my clones outgrew their mother even the runt.

That's definitely good to hear.

I've had clones look completely different from the mother just because the potting soil and spacing were different. They didn't even look like related strains. Some were huge, bushy, and had lots of colas of even height, while the others had a single dominate cola with very few side branching.

I'm hoping for that.
I just peaked my head in on my current flowering grow & was contemplating taking some clones..... The issue though is that they are 8 weeks into flowering & I would imagine it would take a few weeks just to reveg.

You imagined right. Could be worth it, depending on your situation. But I'm not a fan of revegging personally.
