I do the same. Also I compost a diversity of scrap. Will frequently cover crop my compost..To hold the N.
Me. Biochar is a magic ingredient. Condo's for the microbes, holds nutrients well. It's a year around proposition for me.

Yes alfalfa and kelp are are great additives. I wii frequently hot compost with them. Worms move away from the heat, then move back in once cooled.

I understand your love for all that, especially when you come to these sites people are always singing the praises of something new. Humor me though.use your knowledge of what cannabis needs to get through a grow organically. 3-amendments bro. You’d be surprised of how little you need for a good grow.
Humor you? I've grown with less I've grown with straight soil only before and everything in between. I've done so many side by sides its embarrassing to talk about. The things I listed is for people who want a KILLER grow. Not a good one. Large plants with huge colas, frosty as hell and packed full of terpenes. If you're going through the effort in the first place, why not grow dank instead of mediocre?

Just a simple thread here. I did an internet search with this question and nothing really came up, so I'm asking it here. If you could only choose 3 amendments to grow with for the rest of your life, what would they be? If you want to give the reason why that would be great. Remember single amendments no commercial blends or fertilizer, such as bloom ferts, all purpose, bottled nutes etc...

My three:

1. Compost: just because of versatility during the making of it. Can be crafted for specific growth needs, veg, flower...

2. Kelp meal: Growth hormones, mineral content, heat tolerance and overall plant health.

3. Bone meal: Some nitrogen, calcium, other miner and phosphorus to finish through flower.

Those are mine. Thanks ahead of time guys.

I prefer this:

Might just grab a bottle of this stuff, thank you. As for the dry amendment of kelp, I have read (from memory, please don't ask me for a copy of the said post/link) that kelp can take up to 3 months to break down to be usable. If so, is that just the norm for all dry amendments or just for the Kelp?

I grow in coco, so I don't add dry amendments. It really depends on the particular amendment however. An an example, garden lime will take much longer to break down and become available to the plant than guanos.
