I grow outdoors in the Carribean, but I have a horrible germination rate. I grow in 4L pots with potting soil and potting mix. I've tried the paper towel method, the floating in water method, the peat moss pellets method and the straight into the ground method. I have decent seeds, like from bagseeds with tap roots showing when germed and some from seed bank. I germinated 5 Lowryder #2 seeds and 2 came up(paper towel method). I have no good results with peat moss pellets. I had a few good one with the water method. And zero results with the straight in the ground method.

i dont want to over water it! How much do I water it?

Newb in help... please.

i just soak them in water for 18-24 hours and then in paper towels on a plate...with another plate on top of that plate as a lid...I put that on top of my t5's and get about 90=95 % germ success rate...I also change the paper towels every 24 hours and pull out the seeds that popped when I do this and place in moist dirt in a solo cup.

I leave my seeds in a cup of water for 3 days. That usually does the trick, then I place them into soil and keep it really moist. Its not that hard.

BTW, since I started the cup method ive had a 100% germ. and sprout rate. Havent had one that didnt grow into a healthy plant.

once the seed pops a taproot you don't need to water much...too much water will turn that seed into moosh...just damp not wet...if you are having a real hard time ..buy a clone dome and put the seeds in the cup inside the dome..should not have to water and 2-3 days later the sprout should be through the top soil.
