Hey RIU!!!

Its great to be back, after a 6mo hiatus I'm going back at it again. New location, new OP!

So here's the plan. 2 rooms available 9x13' and 9x7' with 9ft ceilings. I was thinking of making the bigger of the 2 rooms a straight flower room, and then portioning off some of the smaller room for veg and using the rest of the smaller room for germ and whatever else.

whats a good amount of light? whats overkill? I have dealt with heat issues of every kind and kinda have my ventilation and ambient temperature control under control if that didnt sound too redundant. So assuming I can control the heat is 8-1ks too much for the 9x13' room? should I split it up and do 6 in the 9x13 and then divide the smaller room into 2 1ks and 2 600s for veg?

if all else fails Ill just board up my living room and put everything in there. 20x15x9' sounds good to me!

LMK! :D

P.S. My prior room was a 10x11' and I had 3 1ks and a 600

too much light is never bad, its just like you said the problems that come with it...

are your lights air cooled??
ho many plants are you trying to grow...
for veg you don't need a lot of light. I like to use floros to veg because they don't exhaust heat to much....
you can veg under a couple t8 shoppies...and the plants will love it...
but in your case I think two 600s is plenty light for veg..

flowering on the other hand, I would do 5 or 6 under a 1000 in that size room...
8 1000s will be a lot of heat so plan on a high bill if you choose this route unless like I asked your lights are gunna be cooled properly..

6 1ks HPS in the 9x13 room and 2 1ks MH in 9x7 room with a small section as clone area and small inbetween clone and main veg area with a T5 or smaller MH(175). You definitly will benefit from more light in your Veg, datboytrue is right that you can grow under dinky lights but more light the better in veg. I got 60wpsf in my veg room...

No I won't have heat issues, they will all be closed loop, and I have a stand alone 20000btu ac. And as far as how many plants? Idk 30-40?

But I'm trying to set this up as a monthly return so half the lighting will be for the first half of flower and the other 4 will be used for the 2nd half of flower.

I've never used 1ks for veg, I've always been afraid of too much heat or something. Idk. But you think I'd be ok? Just hanging them higher obviously. And I don't want to use smaller fluorescent lights I want beasty ass veg plants, like I always grow.

Yeah just keep the 1k MHs alittle higher and with nice cool temps and a pre veg area will be no issues with 1k's. Like you said BEAST's in veg not dinky cfl or flo plants for a 6000watt bloom room!
