I’m confused asf. I need help!!

I want to switch over from my 4 1000w hps lights to Cob lights just to give it a try and see how they go. But I need help picking the right amount of lights that will give me the same power/results.

This is the part that is confusing me because when I do my research on the cob lights, they all say they can push out 2000w/3500/4000 etc... but they’re only using maybe 6-900w of power. Soooo do I go by what they’re pushing out... or how much of the actual wattage that they’re using.

If anyone can break it down to me it would be greatly appreciated. Mind you, I need the equivalent for 4 1000w hps lights to cover a 9x9 area.

If you have a link to a reputable brand then leave it to me. Cost is not an issue.

Always go by what the draw is at the plug. I have a 3000w LED that only draws 300 w. They get their larger by taking how many diodes and multiplying it by how much each light is rated at. Ex... 300 10w lights= 3000w

always go by the wall output

If I go with cobs, here’s what I’m looking at. They get a lot of great reviews.

Maybe try posting in the lighting section and not the grow room design section :D

Thanks for the breakdown clumpy. It’s making sense now.

Twalte, so I’m seeing that it pulls 950w from the plug... which means I will have to purchase 4 of these to get close to my 4000 watts that I have already. So wouldnt be a good idea to just stick to what I have if I’m look for the gram to watt ratio... or are cobs supposed to produce more?

I’ve heard from someone that put it in their 5x5 tent and thought it was almost “too much” light. I was going to do it simply to reduce heat levels in my grow room....but I managed to fix that. Hopefully someone with more lighting knowledge will jump in here. I’d reference the LED section too
