composting, or "cooking", your soil for 30 days (or longer if you can) is referring to putting amendments into your soil. (I.E. alfalfa, kelp meal, fish bone, etc.)

Me personally, I would stay away from all bottled nutes. Even organic ones I don't trust. I'm sure there are others that will give you the ok on that. You mainly want to feed your soil, not your plants. It wouldn't be a bad idea to look into compost teas. or anything of the like.

And patience is key. For now, I guess I would do a few plants with what you have and look up some soil recipes, buy the amendments, and let sit untill you are ready.

I agree with the "no bottled nutes" thing. Chemical nutes in your soil might sterilize it (not good). Organic growing means understanding that your soil is alive and has its own little eco-system. Check out something called "evergrow" (http://www.sunwheelorganics.com/). Works great for reducing your "cook" time for your soil and keeps it healthy. Beneficials are your friend :)

Mixing a soil, and using only water is much easier than trying to use bottles. you don't necessarily need a microbe tea for your soil either. Water Only start to finish!

Subcools recipe isn't TOO bad. but a lot of ppl disagree with it. I'm using subcools soil in 5 gallon pots for my outdoor autos.

If you use a smaller pot, iI would probably only put maybe 25 - 30% supersoil at the bottom

Oh my God lol. Based on your past experiences where are you making this so difficult for yourself? It's really easy if you stick to something simple and not complicated

Bro, you can replace most of that shit with Evergrow http://www.sunwheelorganics.com/store.html and it'll save you a buttload of money. Don't go crazy with the supplements before you know what you're doing. Read the info that everyone has posted and keep it simple.

*shrug* I just know I've tried just about everything on my grows and have seen alot of $ down the drain on junk. The few things I use I like. It's just my personal tastes from my own experiences. Looking at a bottle here: lists lots of things. Anyways that's besides the point: I'm just trying to help the OP not to follow in my footsteps of throwing his money away. He needs to check out the FREE info posted here and learn the basics.

yea im taking steps I will go 100 % organics after i get a cople grows under my belt
Nothing wrong with progressing along the continuum of organics, so long as you're moving in the right direction

I know some medical growers who gave up on organics and smoke shatter everywhere they go, talk about unfortunate.

Just don't get too caught up or dependent in complete series of bottles bro,
cause you'd be surprised what's in coconut and aloe, alone, and how simple and comprehensive a simple thing like cinnamon can be.
Not to be a broken record but silly to not use these things imo.

Cal mag is just too gimicky to pay for for myself, or any bottle jus bout., but I understand your rush and itch to start.. I do. Gotta let the growing passion bubble

Just Don't underestimate Mother Nature,
Or how near the improvements can be,
Nor the power of any one improvement

In other words, build the habit now
It will require knowledge, skill and desire. Never mind time

Now, Best of luck !
and congratulations on starting your journey !

I would run Roots organics before that. AND Age old organics before THAT!
Age old has some nice liquids.
They have some very nice dry nutrients.
Age old is the only liquid kelp I use, when I use a liquid.

There are organic single nutrients available in macro and micro nutes.....If you want to,,,,,,you can "push" it, just like synthetic's "push" the nutritional envelope.....You can go water only, or teas only, OR,,,,you can do any combination of organic styles and as different as you want to. It only takes the time you put in to dial in your method. Just like synthetics.

Organics is no more difficult and lots more rewarding......

Again, read this to understand just what organics is and how it works....Nothing but facts here. In the second half of the book it starts to explain the "HOW" and the chapter on AACT teas is worth the price of the book it's self!
