bear with me folks for this is un believable. everything you ever thought about growning is about ready to go out the window. if you are not ready to drop everything you've heard about growing for a few minutes then do not read on.

OUTDOOR WINTER CROP IN CALIFORNIA!!!!!

i read a few things last year. i had a handful of seeds and a local club with clones. it was late Dec. enjoying the harvest. getting itchy for the next one. so i said what the hell. i set up a few 4' shop lights, drop some beans and smiled. my plan was to start my plants early under flooro and by april-may they would be ready to move outside. so Jan 1 i started a few seedlings and a couple clones.
well i soon learned they grow damn good under those lights. by mid Feb they were 1.5 - 3 feet tall.
so i'm reading and i'm thinking. there is over 12 hours of darkness outside right now being winter and all. i'm in california and the weather was in the 70s. i thought maybe we were headed for an early spring. from what i read i should be able to put my plants outside and they will flower.
what the hell. i'm open for learning new things i'll give it a shot. so i built a little green house. well more like a "shanty" being the hillbilly that i am. there was very little ventilation and it got pretty cold at night. so during the day i would open the sides of green house and at night i would just worry a lot.
sure enough march was beautiful mid 70s all month. and flowers definately appeared. "it's working" i tell my buddies. "yeah,but..." they say.
APRIL. rained like hell. cold. it F$%^&d snowed! had to wear rubber boots to get thru my backyard. plants hung in there. growth was slow and feeding and watering occured maybe twice a month due to weather. plants went into a dormant stage for a couple weeks. suffered some frost bite and took on some crazy growth. but they made it!
i harvested 1 1/2 lbs in late may!! OUTDORS IN CALIFORNIA.
see my gallery for all the photos.
this is definately worth trying the least you will end up with is frozen plants. or you could just end up with meds for the dry season.
